Well, I just got offered a ticket to see Tiesto tomorrow night at less than half the face value of the ticket. After a moment's hesitation, I said yes. Definetly NOT a fan but I haven't been out clubbing in quite a while and definetly haven't been out clubbing on pills in a LONG while (couple months shy of a year now), so, I'll let you know how shambolic it is on Friday.

I think it'll be interesting. Supposedly between 2,000-3,000 people will be there, should have a big light/laser show, etc. Tunes won't be too special but the spectacle itself will hopefully make it a good night.

Oh dear...

interesting.......

I once was offered a guestlist spot for a Tiesto event by a promoter......I declined.

and another time, I also helped the same promoter hang up fliers inside a club on the night of a Tiesto event, which I was allowed to stay in for free....I left right as he went on.

I have just never been moved by the guy in any fashion.

I can't say I've ever really even heard any of his stuff (other than his mix of 'Silence') or any of his mixes, just know him by his tremendous reputation among people whose opinions I don't rate and the disdain people I respect hold for him.

I'm not expecting it to be a musical revelation, needless to say. Nevertheless, I haven't been raving in quite some time.

we won't judge you... cheap tickets are cheap tickets. Fuck, I saw Sting one time because my girlfriend and I were given good tickets, fuckin Sting! Do you know how many old white people were in our seating area, they were all wearing Cosby sweaters for god's sake.

To be honest, the only music I've heard of his that I know was his was a remix he did of Moby's Extreme Ways

Hey Darkstar, sometimes you have to do stuff simply because you can.

Really. Doing something because you can is good enough reason to do anythng. I went to a concert once because I could. When I was 14 I went to see John Cougar Mellencamp (yes, back in the olden days he still had the fricken "Cougar" in his name) because I could. There was no justification for it - my friend's dad had an extra ticket, so I went. And at that age, I didn't have anything better to do that night anyway. It actually turned out to be a decent show, with a rather amusing audience. Now Biff, how's that for an old folk crowd! I mean, shit. John Cougar Mellencamp. He's always had old crowd appeal. At least Sting was hot back in the day, haha. The Police rocked.

Anyway - the night's what you make it. I'm sure you'll have fun either way Tim. Tiesto is repetitive, your typical bag of trance, but the crowd should be fun. Or amusing - take your pick. Oh. And don't forget your glowsticks!!

Ahahaha, speaking of sting and amusing crowds, I saw the police back in july at wrigley. The crowd had a lot of dancing old people, all so happy to see the police sing once more before they became worm food.

Its easy mate. Just eat 3 pills and you will have a fantastic night no matter who you are going to see ( not that i would know , i dont think i could ever eat 3 pills )

Anyway , Tiesto , as much as i dislike his music and the fact that he is rated the worlds NR 1 DJ ( WHY ?!?! Because he plays records the crowd expects ?! Give me Tom and Ed who always suprise us with their choice of records !! ) , he IS a very nice down to earth guy so it's nothing personal i have against him. He's Dutch actually.

I saw Sting a coupla years back, and I think the experience rocked! The live versions of his songs were hard and heavy compared to the studio tracks I'd quite liked a long time back.

Heck, I've never been a Stones fan, but I went to see them just to see what the hullabaloo was all bout, tho I didn't know most of the tunes, they did kickass live at this age, it was shocking.

Have fun darky! Do post a review, so all of us know the final word on the GOD.
