Before, we're all gonna send the tracks to him (on CD, I presume?), he'll do his thing, then I guess post a CD with the tracks on to you? Not sure exactly how it's gonna work, but basically you'll get the tracks after he's made them all nice

Hello People!!

antype - your DEF doing the mixing dude!! :D as chemfan says im just going to sort the mastering out first.

what i suggest is everyone who is interested send the tracks to me by april 1st - ill then master them all and get them sent over to Antype. I'll master everything that is sent to me, and then as mixer/compiler antype can pick what trax are to go on.

is that cool with everyone??

PM me for my address people who want to submit tracks.

cheers

Final reminder guys, CDs should really be in the post right around now to mippio.

Can we get a show of hands as to who's actually contributing a track?

It would be nice to hear from mippio just how many songs he has recieved so far. I'm a bit cynical about this, I'm thinking there might be only a couple of songs ready.

My song is still in-production and it could use a little extra time. Then again, I promised to have something ready on 1st April so I could also make the track available in two days time. I'm putting it on the net and I'll send a link to mippio. I think that was an ok arrangement.

However if the general mass has missed the deadline I could tweak my track into something nicer too. So it would be really nice to know the current situation.

Still wondering if I'm OK with sending in a couple of tracks (would have to send it to mipps via email or yousendit.com as there's no way it would post in time)

I'm just very nervous and shy about sharing what I've done with anyone... kind of makes my stomach turn just thinking about it. :-// meh.

Regardless, I'd still love a copy of the forum cd, I'm looking foward to hearing other peoples' creations! Also might be cool in the future if its put online for download once everything's compiled and mastered and mixed.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

Actually, we HAD said that putting mp3's of your songs on the net was not appropriate, due to the quality degradation. That was the point of posting a CD - to keep the fidelity as mastering can amplify the fault and lack of quality of mp3s.

On the other hand, if that is what people do, that's the way it is.

Nobody said anything about mp3 just now. I'm putting the WAV file on the net. Downloading that is no problem if you have broadband. (you can get at least a third of the filesize off with lossless compression too)

Still would like to know if people have finished their songs already or if we are going to postpone the deadline.

soundertow - Sorry about the assumption, I thought WAVs on the net would be a crazy idea, but if you can do it and mippio is happy to download it, then that's wicked!

anType - I know the project is gonna take a while, hence no hard deadline for the mastering and mixing. I anticipate (my best guess) is that we won't see the final product for 2-3 months from now.

Reaction - A bit cheeky mate ;-) But I know it'll be worth the wait!

hey people,

some good reactions going on here, glad the enthusiasm is still burning 8)

ok, it seems like people sending CD's (especially from abroad) might be a bit time consuming - i think it would be easier if someone has some webspace/ftp program where i can receive tracks online? they would stil be wavs of cousre, but it might make the whole process a bit smoother :)

does anybody have webspace or know of good ftp programs that don't take forever to download? that way i can access WAV's online, and then put them back for antype to mix :)

i'd like to keep tight to the deadline if possible, but im open to suggestion for extensions.

also if we can get a definitive list of contributors then ill know who to chase he he ;-) :D

good work dudes 8) :D

oh - also to say that this is still completely open - anyone who sends a track to me will have it mastered and sent to antype, no question. as to whther it makes the final cut, well you'll have to talk to antype about that one 8) :)

nah, DEF not one by one! im going to do them all in one session, (which is why a list of contributors would be good because then i would know i have them all in), then send the whole lot off to you - unless we can find some kind web person with some web storage space :D

hey, it just so happens that I was reading up on that web storage stuff today, and it would work out well, maybe, to use this thing called Xdrive. check it out for yourself at Xdrive.com . I think it's just what you need, maybe. you open an account (free trial for 15 days) with 5 GB of space, and then your 'friends and family' can upload files to your account with a quick free sign up procedure. looks totally legit and not really complicated. cheers.

With only 15 days though, it would be a bit tight for time I feel. But you guys can decide amongst yourselves the best way to do it.
