Well, hope you enjoy it guys, but don't expect this to be a full-on bangin' experience. Massive are very much at the chill end of things.

baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack from MASSIVE ATTACK

happy but sad note, "Daddy G" did not show up due to a newborn baby :( and no Karmacroma :'( (my favorite massive attack tune)

Deborah Miller, Horace Andy, and suprise guest (chicago native) Terry Callier :::THUMBS WAY!!!!! UP!!!!!::: Cheers to Horace Andy and Deborah Miller behind the two best songs of the night, "safe from harm" and "Hymn Of The Big Wheel". Totally Blown Away!!! They had the whole crowd with them!

3-D 8) as always

Liz Fraser :::Sigh , Thumbs Down:::: (but dont get me wrong i love all her tracks that she collaborated with MA, she just doesnt cut it live, :? )

very happy i saw them, still kinda buzzed (spent way to much money on liquor :? )

Must add, I was suprised with the turnout aswell as the response after the show, which was a very deserved, loud, and long applause to a fantastic group.

Also, met some cool people at the concert aswell, too bad its a Wednesday night or we could of partied longer. O's Well. All and all, great fucking show. Very, very, loud, and worth the $ and the wait.

Good to read you had a great time at Massive Attack. What a great show that must've been! Safe From Harm... drool worthy... mmmm... And it's so nice you met some cool people along the way. You'll just have to meet up with them next time perferrably on a weekend - it can be so hard trying to go out on a weeknight.

It's a shame about Liz Frasier. She has a voice that takes flight on angels' wings and it's too bad it didn't translate as well as you'd hoped on stage.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

DJ Shadow and Massive Attack in SF --

DJ Shadow

For about a half hour, Shadow spun a respectable set. I really loved hearing some new tracks thrown in over old samples, recognizable bits carrying some pretty cool sounds I didn't recognize. But I was disappointed that he ended his set with two guest vocalists. There was a singer from the UK that he collaborated with on two songs, and only one of them was noteworthy. I forget the rapper he brought out, but I thought he was marginally entertaining. Then the set ended and I was let down.

Massive Attack

Someone in the tech crew needs to be fired. During Teardrop there was heavy feedback from the mic, and it totally killed the beginning of the song. Unfortunately, I was unimpressed with the female vocalist who tried to carry that song on stage. Her voice just didn't quite have the strength that song needs... the "vocal climax" at the end of the song just fell flat.

No "Daddy G" was disappointing. The low, bass counterpart probably would have made a few of the songs better on stage.

I really enjoyed "Inertia Creeps," "Angel" and "Group Four." Overall, however, I think I like them better in the studio.

The night as a whole didn't quite meet my expectations, unfortunately. I'm not going to rush out and see either of them again.

same thing happened in Chicago, she kept on looking to the side of the stage and was pointing to the mic to fix it, which was a shame..... and by the way the (white) female singer was indeed liz fraser.

Like Mad Pooter said, It really was a shame that there was no support MC (aka Daddy). Would have been really cool if they mended their relationship with Tricky kid, or even had Mos Def to fill in or something. ( I know Im dreaming.)

It was a great suprise to have Terry Callier though, true blues! And again I cant say enough about Horace Andy, he was groovin up there and everything, hes a fucking legend! Deborah Miller (sexy mama! :P ) perfectly mimicked Shara Nelson's voice! Horace and Deborah, completly owned us with "Hymn of the Big Wheel" (lighting/visual sequence was fucking sweet through the song aswell)

damn, now i wanna see them again X-D ....but with Daddy G this time! :D

From what I heard, during 100th window, Daddy G took time off to start being a dad as well as spending needed time with his family. Meanwhile, 3-D went on to do his own thing (100th window). So I dont think he ever quit the band.

Dude, if Massive Attack re-schedule the Detroit concert that they cancelled earlier this month, I would seriously consider making the trip!
