Hello.

I have a few mixes (of my music) I'd like to upload for a few non-local friends to download. I'm looking to avoid creating torrents if possible. I have a soundcloud account but what I want to share is larger than the free account will allow; I could create 5 different accounts, but I'd rather not. I know there are other sites such as megaupload and zshare; I haven't yet checked their size restrictions. I'm going to research this over the weekend, but I thought if any group might help, it's you guys.

Can anyone suggest a good site for uploading and sharing? Again, I'm looking for "free", the ability to host 5 files up to 200 MB each, and preferably a site without offensive ads.

Recommendations? Thanks!
Gonna work it out...

Mediafire is the way to go. Very few if any ads, and I think the size cap is exactly 200mb. An account isn't needed, but you can get a free one which lets you manage your files, count your downloads, stuff like that.

If one of your friends has internet issues or you need to share something larger than 200mb, use Megaupload, it has no cap and a quicker download rate. There is also zShare, which I like for its built in player for most audio files.

I would suggest Mediafire or Dropbox -- the latter, you can get over 1gb if you do a few things (I don't remember what, but it's not overly annoying or embarrassing).

Mediafire works veeeeeery slow for us who have a slow connection. Megaupload and Zippyshare (specially the latter) are much faster, at least to me.

well, if your connection is generally slow then alternative upload sites won't help much there I am afraid. in general, mediafire works brilliant with me, regardless where I am and which connection I use. at times it is slower due to heavy traffic, still I prefer them
love is all.
