damn, not again... And this time we've done one step into the future, "deeveedeeee" has become "bloo rheyyy"
I hope they don't, or else they'll make me buy a blue ray player, and I sweared to god I wouldn't give anymore money to sony unless I really have to. It's a miracle they finally invented a storage medium that didn't die 1 year after it was released.

But but but... blu-ray is spectacular, though Ben_j! I'm being serious. Our home entertainment systems are used regularly, actually a shitload. We love movies. I'm not a total technophile, I'm not a console fan by any means (that's my husband's thing as he's a PS3 fanboy) - and when we made the purchase I really couldn't care less either way as our DVD player was just fine. It still is. But blu-ray... is more than fine. It's spectacular. Honestly, I couldn't believe how much of a difference it made and it was totally worth the investment.
That said, there are other blu-ray players out on the market that aren't Sony and the prices on some have come way down - don't know how much they go for in France but I've seen some here that are going for the mid-$200 range. The prices will likely drop over time, just like the price for DVD players and VHS players did.

One-word posts FTW.
I'd honestly hope for a DVD release, but seeing as we've suffered pretty long since the WATN release, I'm guessing that we're going to have to wait 'till at least the next tour for anything official. You'll have to live off occasional MTV broadcasts and YouTube recordings for just a bit longer!

There's always 8-track. Yay 8-track! Now that's keepin' it real!
Back to topic. If a DVD of a full Chems gig was released, you wouldn't hear any complaints from me. In case the original poster hasn't heard, Ed mentioned in an interview not too long ago that a live DVD isn't likely. If I remember correctly, I believe Tom was for the idea but Ed, not so much. Ed also came on the forum a few years ago and said 'no' on the DVD thing back then, too.
Maybe one day Tom and Ed can reach middle ground on a live DVD project, but it wouldn't be good to hold our breaths just in case that day never comes.

ahhhhhh BLOO WAY
I'm on the blu ray wagon now too. I recently got a brand spankin new HDTV (part of the reason why I've been absent since x-mas :P) and my Pop's just got a free blu ray player through work, so I've been in 1080p heaven. I've never experienced picture quality like this before. It's almost sad to say, but the picture is almost better then what you see in real life. And then when you play blu ray movies, HOLY SHIT. You can't explain it, you need to experience it.

Blu-ray is remarkable more for its audio than its video. Just so everyone is aware, you can put 24/192 on it up to 7.1. That's the appeal of having a CB live recording on there, provided they're recorded in HD.
