Push the button released in holland januari 21.

galvanize is a good one, the sample is a little bit Turkish

and I love it! My boyfriend is from turkey and I love the

old music from there with the special sound.

Makes me happy!

But after a while you know the song and it still is ok.

Then Believe, number 5, that's the one for me.

If I feel really good believe is what I wanna hear.

I just love it.

Every track on the album is very different and that can be the power

of a album or not.

But I think that that's the power of

The Chemical Brothers,

you never know what you can expect

So they always surprise me.

That's why I love them.

was anyone disapointed with the end of the album? it just stopped after a brilliant last track. reminded me of the atrocity encountered on AONO.

It certainly is abrupt. However I actually think its a good thing, I just feel like listening to it again!!

I think the abrupt ending is good. I love STA its such a perfect track, even better than star guitar I think. I know the ablums perfect but i would love it longer.

it ends with this whoooooooooooooooooooooppppppp

is a clever end i hope you understand this is surface to air. for example when you are swiming and you need air your mouth make a similar noise so for me all the track evolution is underwater, then when it ends finally you take air.

well im talking bollocks so i better shut up. X-D

thats a great way of loking at it, but what your saying would be better if prehaps it ended as experiment no.6 ends on Lost Horizons with a whoooooooooopop

Got both Galvanize and Push the Button yesterday. Loved Galvanize,

but have mixed feelings about Push the Button. This is the first time that their album left me feeling puzzled and somewhat unsatisfied. I can kind of see where they were going with it, but I think it's raw. Some tracs made me feel that I'm in a hip-hop room of some trendy NY club (like Left Right).

There are some cool tracs on it like Come Inside, Believe and very traditional Marvo Ging.

Overall- interesting, definately different from the rest of their albums.

I'm still listening to it, so my opinion of it may improve with time. This is just the first impression.

Well, I skip Left Right for that same reason, but the album is still great. :)

Oh, and welcome to the forum. ;)

Maybe not. But I'm not all that excited about them trying to do something diffrent, I think it's best for them to stick with what they do best.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is OK to do something different every once in a while and Come with Us was a good crack at this. Push the Button sounds a bit forced and the least inspired to me and after reading their interview I understand why. It's almost like they are debating the worthiness of this album themselves. Btw, I think Come with Us is way cool. I also saw them in NY doing it live, which was awsome.

Why do you skip left right? Because it's rap? So what, the lyrics are genius and anwar is a good rapper. I usually don't like rap... ever, but I actually like this song... the lyrics make me feel depressed, in a good way.

controversial! ;) :) if they just kept churning out dig your own hole they'd get panned for not progressing. dammed if u do and dammed if u dont X-D

the chems are in the enviable/unenviable (delete as apt) position of having made a couple of classic albums that they are always going to get compared against.

give PTB a good go though - its a proper grower :)

cheers

Push the button is beautiful. From beginning to end this is a sign that we are all headed in the right direction.

My first real introduction to the chems music was at the PNE here in vancouver for the surrender tour. It was my first concert experiance ever, and it changed my life. Meaning in such a way, that i was addicted to live preformance, which no recording can beat.

In my opinion the brothers are at their best on stage. Their cd's don't do them enough justice and i can't wait to see them preform live again. Oh please please please come to vancouver! i know that this place is known for it's really mellow uninspired crowds, but for those of us who wanna dance, we need the chemical experiance!

On to the cd, i was dancing around my apartment when i put this thing on. I couldnt turn it up loud enough. Surrender was a beautful album, i could almost say it was their best. Every track was wonderful! I was rather disapointed with "come with us" It had really good moments, "the test" is a an amazing song for example. But most of it just didn't chime with me, it was missing the chemical magic.

Push the button has the magic again. It continues the flow that started with "surrender" You can feel the soul in the music, they really put love into this one and it shows. I'm really proud of them for doing something new. A part of me wishes they hadnt gone so much for the popular rap/hiphop mentality as their exploration but they really made magic of it. You can just tell by listening to this album through that the live shows are going to be explosive. I can't wait.

I'm not sure why but this is the first album thats inspired me in ages. I'm going to have to make a bunch of inspired works from these tunes.

If the brothers read this, i'd love to work with you guys at some point in the near future. My partner in artistic crime is currently working on a new NIN video for the upcomming release. We're responsible for the likes of the Eminem "white america" and "mosh videos" in coop with GNN. The technique used for those vids is really comming to a fine groove. The creative possiblities are delicious.

Looking forward to the show!

cheers,

This album is chemical perfection. Not one bad nanosecond of sound AT ALL for me. :D

Seeing them live in Perth this Sunday after driving nearly 4000km from the other side of Australia.

Why I skip Left Right?

Because it's too much rap, even the music, and I think that the song is "heavy" and the rythm is depressing.

It might also be because I'm not in the best moments of my life and I'm more sensitive.

Anna, stick with it. It definitely gets better over time. First time I didn't think it was so hot, then there were a few stand-out tracks (Surface To Air, Believe, Hold Tight London), plus one I didn't like so much (i.e. Left Right). Then I grew to like the WHOLE album.

I've seen this pattern repeated many times with many different people, that seems to be the way this album grows on you.

Went through the timely process of registering here to rave about this album. It's top notch stuff. My favourite track is 'Galvanise.' If I'm interpreting it correctly (?!) and it is resistance music, then it's the best I've heard in years. When I first played the CD my mood was immediately transformed. I've been feeling quite depressed about people's despondency about this whole war in Iraq thing but when I heard this powerful song blasting through my earphones I felt a renewed sense of hope for humanity and I'm sure even my body language changed. I can imagine it being played at protests and inspiring people to rise up and fight the power!

The Boxer is another great track. I love the way the beats appropriate the lyric 'I can't seem to shake this feeling...' The Chemical Brothers taking music to another level - yet again. In 'Believe' they seem to be addressing the philosophical void out there, and considering this track in the context of the album suggests to me the Brothers want us to galvanise!

'Hold Tight London' is one of those songs that's strangely comforting, whilst 'Close Your Eyes' and 'Surface To Air' are uplifting and work to define beautiful music. Another of my favourites is "Shake, Break, Bounce'. The energising beat and general groove of this song meant I found myself subconsciously bopping along in the city to the amusement of on-lookers. Good stuff! What I like most about this album is that the Brothers have managed to make more original music that sounds amazing AND has depth - gotta love it!

I think Left Right is a brilliant example of a classic hip hop tune, this is how hip hop should be. Im sure any hip hop fans will think its a brilliant record.

Personally Im not all that into hip hop therefore its not my fave tune on the cd, but still you have to give it credit for what it is in terms of that style of music.

I think they made this track because they wanted to not to market it. On the old site in the question and anser section someone asked if they were under pressure from the lable to make records that are pop and will market well. They said no they do there own thing and do not make a tune to sell.

Does Marvo Ging remind anyone of the Let It Slide (Hitting the Bottle Mix) by Ariel, or is it just me?
