GOLDEN TICKET.... -_-u

I'm not trying to be nitpicky or argumentive :P but from my understanding of the newletter, the New Year's winner was from the web contest, not the golden ticket hidden inside the cd.
Ah fuck it, maybe I just misinterpreted, maybe I should read again! But in any case, between the web contest and the Golden Ticket in the cd, there should have been two lucky winners at Turnmills on New Year's Eve.
I just realized I'm making a mountain out of a molehill here... it's really not a big deal but I still wonder about these things...

*sigh* And... my newsletter is nowhere to be found. I thought I saved it but must've deleted it yesterday when I was cleaning out all the penis enlargement/online personals/penis enlargement/clear your credit/penis enlargement ads that my mailbox has been spammed with.
There has to be someone who still has it!

Ah-ha! Got it - good thing I moved it from my bulk folder before I did the big *eh hem* sweep! But the question still remains... did this Joe Fernandez win the web contest, or did he unwrap the ticket from the cd? And was the Singles Golden Ticket really a contest... I'm putting way too much thought into this. Must get some sleep...
Happy New Year from Astralwerks HQ! This week's What
Is What is chock full of info on a slew of new and
current releases. We are gearing up for our best year
yet, so get ready for 04! We have a a Winter Music
Conference event, a SXSW event and countless tours to
come, so we'll be coming to YOUR town soon.
On to the news....
THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS
Singles 93 - 03
http://www.astralwerks.com/chemical/
Tom & Ed rang in 2004 in style with a New Year's Eve
set at Turnmills in London that by all accounts
brought the house down. Congrats once more to Joe
Fernandez, winner of our Golden Path Ticket contest
who flew to England for the festivities. The Chems are
now hard at work in the studio once more but we don't
expect them to stay holed up forever. Stay tuned for a
major announcement coming soon that will have some of
you seeking out the sunshine.
In the meantime, the latest single from the 'Singles
93 - 03' collection is picking up steam in the clubs,
on the air and on TV. "Get Yourself High" is taking
the music world by storm, featuring the booming vocals
of Canadian hip-hop star k-os over a massive Chemical
Brothers production. Check out their site for the
equally stunning video, showing Kung-Fu Theatre the
way it oughta be. The commercial single hits stores
this month on CD and 12" vinyl. With remixes from the
likes of Felix Da Housecat and Switch as well as an
extended version from Tom & Ed themselves, you're
gonna need this one.
Stay tuned for more news on The Chems coming soon,
including a very exciting announcement about a few dj
gigs.

i thought it was the case that cos no one claimed the ticket in time, it then became a web contest to raffle of the prize

On that topic... http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3 . I'm not just an idiot for being amused, right?
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Well, *if* they come to California again before the release of their next record, I hope they play at Coachella as they've done for 3 out of the 4 runs it's had so far. The Chemicals put on a great show there, under the open sky (or a large tent almost a block long for their dj set) - excellent every single time!
I highly recommend that festival to each one of you willing to make the trip out to California. There's something for everyone on the Coachella bill, the crowd are easy going and relaxed and the organizers of the event really seem to love all kinds of music and it shows. Only thing is if you plan on making the trip you have to act asap - the hotels/motels in that area fill up real quick and there's no onsight camping.
But there's also, as sneakerbeater pointed out in another thread, there's the Winter Music Conference coming up - it's held in Florida - so who knows, maybe the Chemicals have a gig there?
Another one of life's unsolved mysteries for now. I guess we'll all have to wait and see where their next sunny stops are...

hehe long live the 4AD bands!! If the Pixies are reforming, then you shouldn't miss the opps to see them perform live. I just checked their site and the ball isn't rolling yet on this yet so it's up in the air about a regroup. Apparently they still jam, but never publically...
I saw them 2wice as an opening act. They broke up shortly afterward. They really got the audience pumped up for the show and were very well recieved. And they sounded great, very loud and it was cool to see Kim Deal rock!
