I haven't watched the Office, but I think Parks and Recreation is pretty funny.

An excellent Aussie series, "The Straits", not a comedy, just a really good watch. It's about the Torres Straits between Australia and Papua New Guinea. Difficult to find but well worth it.

Off the top of my head, the only Australian comedy I can think of is The Micallef Program. Very funny show :D

The Killing! top notch crime drama!
Land of the Lost DVD series! Small budget kids show, but the stories trump!
Fist of Legend (undubbed)

No, the US remake. Wondering which one is "better".

Sherlock. Well produced. And it allows me to vicariously live through a brilliant, arrogant asshole that gets everything right.

I don't wanna recommend Workaholics, because I really don't think it's that good. It kinda comes off annoying, most of the time. But from what I've seen in the first season there is some really funny and creative episodes. Particularly the one which includes the clip above, and the one where they attend the Juggalo concert to save a co-worker from a date.

Ultimately, probably better to watch late at night when your brain is all mushy.

Agreed completely. I watched through it a week or two ago, really smart, really impressive series. The directing is epecially good. My friend recommended it to me saying that the fifth episode (Hounds of Baskerville) was the best episode of any TV show that exists. Not quite... but it's up there!

Workaholics is just ridiculous. Best described as 'The Office made by teenagers'. It's really crude, but smartly crude, if that makes any sense. And there's loads of references to things that - in someone else's words - people born in the 80's and 90's will be cracking up over. It's a funny show, some episodes are meh but others are great. If you're interested, definitely see the above mentioned episodes, as well as the company drug test episode and the (insane) season 3 opener.

But if you're looking for a funny show, I can easily say that Archer is the funniest thing on TV right now. Just finished season three, I was crying laughing.

You really need to try and track this down, aired yesterday on Sky 1 and it's by my hero Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror, Nathan Barley).

Trailer:

Only 2 episodes, and it's utterly brilliant! Watch it and let me know what you think.

I really want to have a conversation about the most recent issue of Breaking Bad with people in here (because I know a few of you watch the show) but I'm not sure how many people don't want spoilers.

Any thoughts? Amazing writing, but SO DISAPPOINTED IN WALTER!!!

GAH!! I know. I want to discuss it too it don't want to do so through spoiler tags!

Walter's gettin a bit too big for his britches, ya think?

That show has an interesting way of making me care about people I would normally find morally repugnant.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

One of the best things about that show is that it tests the limits of your own sense of morality. You end up liking a meth dealer from the start of the show--Jessie is someone who you end up caring about from day one.

I agree totally, amazing show .. Walt was a really likable guy in the beginning, you could totally understand why he got into the whole cooking business, and when he did something badass it was great! I totally loved that episode, I think in season 2, where he made an explosive that looked like the blue meth and blew that guys place to bits to get away .. friggin awesome. But now it's not just a guy with a problem getting a bit bad ... he really is the bad guy.

I still love it, this is the last season so it is going to end with something big.
