So I've been looking for the "Get Yourself High" single for a while now. One day I was with some friends and they wanted to go to Best Buy (an electronics/entertainment store). We pulled in and I always just check the chem's section for shits. Turned out they had GYH. I liked the felix the housecat mix, but holy shit did I explode when I heard switches rely on dub. It is an amazingly pumped track and insanely club worthy. I have a friend who really likes the chems and we always listen to them while in the car. She loves beat and the patterns, samples, and bass in switches is astounding. Anyone else think that album was off the hook? If Chemical 5 is anything like that, I will be insanely happy.

I know there was some debate here in the past about which GYH remix was better, etc but by the time I got the single, it was a little late getting into the conversation.

Personally I enjoy both remixes, but I do feel the Switch dub mix was superior. Like EBW said, the bass is really great and I think this makes the track stand out more. Get Yourself High is a great song as is, and the Switch take on it does give the the song that lil extra clubworthy edge (even though I've yet to hear it in a club because I hardly ever get out these days... just saying. ;) )
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

In my opion the "GYH switches rely on rub" remix is the best remix of a chemical brothers track ever. I love that track.

ace remix - really rocking.

if you like that try switch's 'get your dub on' on Freerange - lumpy clumpy house music for the headz. rollicking bass and phat weirdness over the top - very cool.

I totally rely on dub now. Both remixes were good but switches clearly wins. That bass is just the shit.

When GYH first came out, I heard it on a club cast on the radio once.

it's funny, i thought the last time this was discussed that people did not like the remixes. i must admit i love the rub mix more than the dub. i love the whole vocal arangement on this mix. way the vocal comes in from nowhere accapella stylie. i also love the unpolished looping 'what you really th...' but the word 'thought' you don't get, bar a little tease. switch were worthy remixers for this track, i might even agree with Joslyn that this maybe one of the best remixes of a chems tune. i'll have to dig out the switch essential mix, never got round to listening to that

as for the felix mix. nowhere near as good a switch. i love the driving house rhythm, that was my first impression. i know most of you are breaks people, but i'm a house head and its a nice beat!! the acid breakdown in the middle of the track anoys me. how many tune have i heard with that breakdown?? not very original in my book.
I'm a fuckin doughnut

Near the end there is the GYH mix, then afterwards their unreleased mix of the Jaxx's Right Here's the Spot, which is also an amazing remix. :D
