Well i arrived about 6 and the first thing i done was go up to the front and i stayed there all night.. i didnt move.. it was a long journey but i just couldnt miss front row with the chems this time..

because i arrived at about 6 there was bands alredy playing but nothing huge it was only a few people round the front.. but i was bookin my spot for later cause i was thinkin as soon as the chems come on it will be mayhem..

I didnt know who the band was called at that point. Then after they went off Sonic Youth came onstage.. ive never heard them before so i was kinda like hmm...? but it was really good, theyre music might not have moved me but the character of the band did.. the guitarist was MENTAL.. he jumped down off stage and was pulled in by the crowd.. i was jus laughing.. he wasnt too far from where i was standing. i was trying to call him over to talk to him but it seem like he was too drunk or hyper or somethin to even care :P

He then started to climb up on this amp and i had a Budwieser Viser on and everyone seemed to be trying to hit him with it.. Not because they didnt like him ( well i dont think so ) but jus for the sake of it.. so i threw mines.. it didnt hit him.. but it landed right beside him. I was like YEEHH!! :P

Luckly enought a girl next to me got the pick of the guitar everyone around her was giving her the thumbs up.. it was really cool.

Then sonic youth went crazy.. and parts of the crowd did too.. because it was the last song.. they went off stage but due to ''WE WANT MORE'' they came back out to play one more song :P

My initial reaction to that was... ''Fuck i didnt think that actually worked but anyways'' then after.. they Tables for the chemical brothers were rolled out.. i just felt my heart go.. *BEAT...BEAT* i was so excited.. but no one around me was sharing the same excitement. I was prettymuch on my own.. except for the friends i made by just chatting.. they were just there to attend.. not for any of the acts..

But i was grabbing the ramps in front and going mad shouting.. HOLY SHIT..THE CHEMS!!... and then when the probe lights came on.. i was jus bursting with tears saying am i actually here.. is this happening..*slap* - YES!.. HERE WE GO.. then the opening tune that came on in Coachella came on.. TNK i think.. and after... the tune for HBHG came on and everyone went crazy.. the tune kicked in.. and i went nutz.. jumpin up and down going apeshit.. a girl behind me said.. ''here here, me and my friend will give you a big kiss if you let us stand were your standing''... my response was...''No...Way..'' then they kept annoying me for a little while because i was jumping uncontrollably to 'The Big Jump' , and they said.. will u stop jumping like that.. im thinking to myself.. 1. its the big jump.. 2. i paid 49.50 to get here.. so... No? but i cudnt actually say that it was too loud so i jus kept dancing :D



Alot of good song were played.. but i cant remember them atm... i tried to record the gig but i couldnt because my mp3 player broke like a week b4 it happend.. so i tried to get alend of a friends but his recordin qaulity isnt really that good + i didnt know how to work it fully.. they ..hmm

Well after thinkin the chems wer going off stage because they stopped playing for about 30secs.. i decided to head towards the exit.. but i had in my mind that i wanted to see what it wud be like within the crowd rather than the front.. so they came bk on.. then i looked round and they wer right in front of me.. but i was behind a few people.. not exactly the position i was in the last time.. but i did meet another friend.. a guy from Donegal said that the gig wasnt exactly the best.. said he was at the Point Depot gig and he said it was alot better.. i told him it was my first time so i didnt care.. aslong as they played suited me!



It was so funny everyone in the crowd were going wild.. a few people were i was standing got lifted out because they were causing trouble :P

Sitting on peoples shoulders etc.. pusshin.. it was incrediable..

I could have danced all night and i jus didnt want it to end... it was an amazing night!

crowd was full of scumbags who ruined the last half hour of it for me.

set list and performance was excellent. morning lemon was longer than usual which i fucking loved. the new mix of block rockin beats is superb wasn't one of my fav live tracks but now is. tempetation star guitar was incredble and chemical beats was sweet as hell. the reason no encore was due to legal finishing times as marlay is a residental area. ed and tom waved at us which was cool. they were filming the gig for some reason cause they had a camera man doing crowd shots of us.

not sure if any of you guys have been to many chemi gigs but this one really let me down. the point in march was awesome. marleypark just wasn't in the same league. probably not their fault, heard there was noise and time restrictions but could have been way better and no encore ment that people were left a cold.. :(

best i have seen them since '97, amazing set. morninh lemon was excellent, as was chemical beats, great to see some epd era stuff back in there.



as for the crowd i was disgusted, what is it about ireland? people just cant be civilised when in large numbers. brixton-same(ish) size crowd;no crush at the front, no pill heads with no shirts on and no shouting "woo woo" when the beats stay between songs. it drives me mad! there is room for 100 or so in the front row, hence, the other 6,900 ppl CANNOT get in to the front row, its simple fucking maths! pushing wont alter the fucking fabric of physics allowing everyone to be at the front, so why fucking do it?!!!





but i promised myself id leave on a positive note.....



Tom, Ed, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for an incredible gig, my 7th and still as amazing as my first in '97.



and thank you to all the decent people at the gig, some of who around us were trying to stop the idiots ruinning it.

we were too busy get crushed and shoved by scumbags to take pictures. there is one of tom in todays sunday mirror.

Man, that sucks hearing about how you guys were crushed and it damaged your good time. There are experiences that can go from good to bad in 5 seconds flat and being jammed in an asphyxiating crowd is one of them. It's a horrible feeling.



I hope the girls (Chemical_Sister and Jeanie) held their ground!!



But it's also awesome to hear how well the boys played, especially took note of chem'd up's positive testimony to their performance.

A girl who i was standin bside warned me about that.. she said you 'can' get crushed when in Front Row centre.. thats why they wer standing to the right of the stage and wer still at the front..

I was in the centre for a while but not at the front.. jus behind a the front line.. i didnt get pushed or crushed

GIG WAS AMAZING

People where SHITE. So much pushing and stuff. I was fine but my friend was really anoyed. Gig wise it wqas amazing and i still went fucking crazy. I think Ed recogognized us cuz he blew us a hand kiss. Mjeah Tom and Ed were fucking amazing once again , to bad those bloody people made me so aggresive.

Yeah the gig was fucking excellent man. The build up in believe is just....woooow 8O Tom and Ed seemed happy to :D Yeah besides the crowd it was GREAT.
