Hey guys, I know this isn't the first thread but here's my thoughts on last nights live set...
Myself and the girlfriend (her first Chems live set) arrived just as Tomorrow Never Knows was playing, was great to here this again as its a track sets the mood well and reminded me of many great previous Chems gigs! Centred about the crowd was a large low hanging ring, as the opening track was peaking from the ring came these large jets of smoke, that really excited the crowd and were a cool surprise. As I'm sure you are allready aware they played the entire of the new album. Sound wise it sounded great on a big system, the new music is defiantly very intense and works so well live. Horse Power was very good and really rocked the venue! The visuals were also top notch, with some cool use of faces, swimming ladies and trippy scene!
The second half of the show was also very good, with Ed and Tom seeming to enjoy playing some old favs such as HBHG, OOC, Belive, Saturate, EBW7 (vocal), closing with Chemical Beats. The boys also had a slight technical issue when playing believe, with some twat jumping on stage near Tom, however they recovered very well and got straight back into it after a short pause. Star Guitar/TPPR did not appear, which was cool as this is not a greatest hits tour and made a nice change.
Overall a very good show, which my girlfriend was also impressed by. The new music is great and shows that Ed and Tom really are not still top of the premier league. It was great to here the new album and a reworking on the setlist, it all sounded very fresh and a new exciting era in the live shows. Thanx boys!

Yes, strange bug on Believe, very strange, I think I've never seen Tom & Ed like that, the madness of fear ! lol
But if you read that Tom & Ed, it was my favorite moment in the show, the sort of thing that make everything could happens, and the way you went back to the end of Believe was great, it added more and more madness to the "woooowooo wooowooo" rise.
Was it a bug in the Juno 106 ? Or maybe in the filter effect ?

Hi guys. Just signed up.
I was there saturday near the front and was totally blown away. They did have some technical issues, One square of the screen wasnt working at the start and some guy had to climb up to reconnect it and the music fizzled out during believe. But they recovered amazingly well, It mustve been staged because everyone went mental when it built up again. If anything, the bug was the one of the highlights!
But yeah, also my first time and well worth it

acid whats your problem with the stage diver? stage diving part of gig culture, may not be very chemical like but it goes with the territory. if anything he did deflect from the technical problems for about 10 seconds. the real twat was the person who threw the drink over the mixing desk that tripped the sound out. he could have finished the night off early.
I'm a fuckin doughnut

Great review Acid. I thoroughly agree with you, the show was amazing and the new material is even better than I had hoped! Horsepower was definitely a highlight amongst many highlights!
And the extended classic megamix encore was incredible too, the atmosphere was so electric. Everyone I could see looked like they were having the time of their lives. I certainly was! And to finish on my favourite Chemical Beats was the icing on an already lavish cake.
I've lost count of the number of Chems gigs I've been to now, but this one was quite possibly one of, if not THE best I've been to. The visuals were next level too.
Big ups to Tom and Ed and to everyone involved, my friends and I had the perfect night out
Bring on Sonar, I am sex-weeing in my pants just thinking about it, hehe
