Hi All

Getting hitched on September 18th this year!! It's not at a church, and we have to pick 5 - 8 pieces of music for the ceremony.

The songs can have no reference to God, or any religion etc of course as it's not in church.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated - something lovely and ambient/instrumentals/electronic apt love songs, nothing to 'Doof, doof, doof' Oldies in the house!!

Here's what me and my bride to be have gone for so far:

Elbow - Newborn/Mirrorball
Zero 7 - Destiny (Our song)
Doves - Winter Hill/Caught by the River/Catch the sun (Still deciding which one
Sub Sub - Past

Danka!
My life is a boat, being blown by you. With nothing ahead, just the deepest blue... To me you're like a setting sun. You rise then you're gone.

Your love keeps lifting me...

Defined a little more formally, "escape velocity" is the initial speed required to go from an initial point in a gravitational potential field to infinity with a residual velocity of zero, with all speeds and velocities measured with respect to the field

Cheers guys, I love all these suggestions, ha-ha @ Grounds for Divorce, it is probably our fave Elbow Song as well, how annoying!

We were debating about me editing out the "Iiiiiiiii've been working on a cocktail called _________________ WHoaaaaaa, ooaaaaao ooooaaaaa'...

Congrats sir!

Here are a few suggestions:

Air - "Playground Love"

Moby - "Novio" (Nothing says classy like some Gregorian chant)

Billie Holiday - "I Can't Give You Anything But Love"

Four Tet - "My Angel Rocks Back and Forth"

Iron & Wine - "Such Great Heights"

Sorry if these suck but its the best with which I could come up--I kept thinking of tragically romantic stuff like The Smiths, Portishead, and Hope Sandoval. :???:
