i thought the idea was hookie for the gorillaz once i was introduced to them.....but all i know is the music they make is awesome......I didnt think they would ever come back after their first self titled 'Gorillaz' album. And their new release 'Demon Days' is topped up in my favortie albums list. If you havent already checked out their new album i suggest you do so. To me the new album almost sounds like a new aged pink floyd with a hint of hip hop from dj danger mouse ( :D grey album sweet :D )....that might be pushing it ......but it really is good.

The concept of the imaginary cartoon band was a dig at all the crap, sorry, SHIT manufactured bands out there. here was a band completely manufactured, that obviously doesnt exist, but has a massive fanbase and overly produces some of the best music in my opinion.
I am a huge fan of Gorillaz, as the cartoons, aswell as Damon Albarn as an artist.

* Today X-D
Gravity (Sound Check) is my favourite track.
The Laika Come Home dub version of the album with the Space Monkeys is good fun aswell. Definately worth a look.

I ask about them because I read this interview by Neil Gaiman with Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett and it was interesting.... I like this quote

When they came up with the idea for Gorillaz, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett wrote a manifesto. It fit on a single sheet of paper, but they've since lost it and wish they could remember what it said.

Hey, you could've asked me about the Gorillaz! ;) Noodle rocks, 'nuff said. We were giving out this little comic book to go along with the purchase of Demon Days, only I couldn't snag one because my boss was looking. Next thing I knew, they were gone. :(
'stash, I think you'd like the title track Demon Days. It's kind of like what would happen if J. Spaceman brought in his gospel choir and set them up with what sounds a bit of reggae influence. It's my favorite song from the album so far, it has a lot going on, lots of soul... but the whole thing all sounds pretty good and quite diverse - still trying to score a promo but not having any luck.

Well i like them. The new singleis great, but album isn't :?
I think it's too slow and little boring. Me needs more songs like Clint E. and 19-2000.
Rythmns don't get much slower than Clint Eastwood!! ;-)
Imo the new album is very enjoyable, as with other people on here, my fave tracks are Dare and Feel good inc.
Liquidfunk tells me the b side on Feel good inc is worth a listen so will check that one out 8).
