bonjourno,

For those of you who have been following my occasional 'Bloody Hell!' threads you'll know it usually follows with some shameless self-promotion of some kind ;)

This time its the funk band Baby Charles, and their new 7" which I produced that's out now. It's a funk cover of Arctic Monkeys I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor with the heavy-as-fuck Time Wasting on the flip.

You can buy it here:

or

http://www.fatcity.c...px?pageid=13628

You can hear the whole of timewasting on the Craig Charles funk and soul show on 6 music and is played 10 mins into Feb 16th show here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk..._20080216.shtml

They will be doing a live session on March 1st (I think) for Craig Charles on 6Music.

They're also doing a live session on Mark Lamars show on Radio 2 on March 21st.

The album (which I produced) is out on the 10th of March on Record Kicks and you can hear snippets of the album here:

http://www.recordkic...l.php?idnew=168

The album launch party is April 4th at Pigalle in Leicester Square for all you London types - they're doing a gig with Andy Smith of Portishead dj'ing - i shall be there with bells on, naturallement.

If your still reading, thank you very much for your time!!

Cheers!

x

Get a fucking room, you 2!!

I'm just kidding. It's sort of nice when there's another on-board couple who get all snuggly wuggly and embarrassing on the forums besides me n'stash.

Anyway mipps - I'm real proud of you. I hate being so far away. If I were closer, I'd go to the launch party and rub shoulders with world famous producer mippio. Formerly known as world class act producer for the non-existant legend-in-our-buzzed-minds band Quantuum Tranny. ;)

your version of " I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" is far superior then the Arctic Monkeys orginal, IMO. But then again I dont care for the Arctic Monkeys a whole lot. Your little funky makeover put some life into that song for me.

As for the flip side, I'm gonna give it a listen after this Vodka Causes Headcrashes mix

Great thing, dude!

This is a must for funky funk lovers. So I gotta say: don't get a fucking room, get a funky one instead, har har. Nah, I really dig the snippets I could listen to. When do we see some self produced KGB ("kid gone blind" not to be misunderstood) stuff?

Congratulations, you now are going to make me look for this album everywhere in town. Good tuneage!! Mips, you deserve to be embarassed by the one and only jeanie for that. I wonder if the album will get a North american side release.

mippsie wippsie!! hehe. You know we'll never let you live this down. But it's only cuz we're proud of you. ;)

I'm digging the funky soul and deep grooves. Jeez, it really channels James Brown and Sly and the Family Stone in a timeless sort of way but sounds raw, chill and fresh too. Ryno poses a good question about a N. American release.
