I like how the single versions are different, feels like more value for money. There are so many people who release singles and it's just a few pointless extra beats or just a shorter edit, if you get the album later or whatever it makes you think why you spent that money on the single in the first place. With the Chems there are always unique mixes and usually not just a few noises here and there but actual sections that contribute to the whole song; IBIA probably being the best one 8).
I find it funny people want to hear Here Come the Drums when it may have disappeared into the chemical wilderness, they could have just left that unfinished track alone. I suppose you could call it an urban myth (or chemical myth?). Of course it would be good if it was on the next album but we just have to wait and see! :D

I read in an interview that the reason it hadn't been released is because they wanted it to have the best drums you've ever heard, to suit the title "Here Come The Drums". I'd love to hear what the Chem's version of best drums you've ever heard is, cause in my opinion they've already delivered with half the tracks on DYOH!

I'd like to hear this track one day - it would be nice but I'm not worried about it not being released. Obviously they weren't happy enough with the track to release it, and they've moved on to other things and I think we should remain hopeful and look foward to their upcoming work they do plan on sharing. If it didn't feel right, then I don't think that's something they could've forced - it sounds like they might've hit a road block or maybe even had creative differences with this. Maybe one day we'll know, maybe we won't so I don't understand why there's this obsession with the song when we've got a record full of new tracks to look foward to. You can't pressure something into being good if you're not feeling it 100%, so if in their opinion Here Come the Drums isn't up to snuff, I'll trust their judgement and wait to hear what they've got in store for us.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

Yep thats exactly what they said, with a title such as here come the drums they did'nt think that the drums were good enough...... but they were probably still rocking.
