MCA - being 47 and making better hip-hop than 98% of so-called "rappers"...

So weird, I just played "Alive" by the Beasties without knowing this. What better way to say he lives on in his music.

Peace out, Adam. Your contributions were many and your influence will be legend.

Thank you for all the great music, particularly your take on the Bodhisattva Vow.
Gonna work it out...

this is such a big shock. 47. nothing.
touches me so much I even have to announce this here given I am hardly around recently.

he will live on in his music. still, what a loss. I have hardly ever been so sad with other musicians/artists/actors/whatever dying.
love is all.

I have been really bummed out since I heard the news. He's only 7 years older than me. Too young, too soon... :(

Licensed to Ill was the second cassette tape I ever bought! I remember having the guys on a big-ass poster covering half my wall!

I know I kind of sound like the whole band died, but i'm still in disbelief how such a young man was taken away from us. I knew he was battling with cancer for a few years, but he kept his condition low key and away from the public, so I was taken by surprised by the sad news.

A tough time for the family, as well as for Mike and Adam, who will probably never use the 'beastie boys' name ever again, and that's what makes me sad right now!

I don't like thinking about this!!! Definitely makes me sad. The Beastie Boys have been with me since I was maybe even 10... Definitely terrible that he had to go so soon, and such terrible f*cking musicians end up sticking around piling more crap onto the heap.

I mean, Jon Bon Fucking Jovi is still alive and kicking. Big ffs with that one.

I really enjoy, though, seeing the outpouring of love for Adam--he was quite the pillar in the music scene, and history for many.

Thanks for the magical musical moments, maestro.
