hey does anyone know if or when the chemical brothers are on tour in 2009? missed them in manchester last year, well gutted :(

Yeah, they dj'd at Coachella a long freakin time ago! Fatboy and Chems, back to back. Getting seperated from my crew but refusing to move from my prime position on the floor to go look for them. It was the first time I heard It Began In Afrika (not to mention it was Afrika hot in the Sahara tent) Tom and Ed scanning the crowd looking for that response. stash braving the crowd and fetching me water because I would have dehydrated otherwise. Treading through a shin-deep sea of empty water bottles and discarded glowsticks after the house lights came on when the set ended. Looking for our car as we meandered dazed, confused and fully satisfied through the parking lot. Ahhhh *sigh*. Such good times. It was fun... and exhausting. The last time they played a dj set in S. California was in 2003, when they were promoting Singles.
I'd better stop or I'll end up babbling some monster post with my memories...
I like that they still dj inbetween albums. It's good for us, because that's when the Chems road test new material. :D

Heeheehee... Whirls, you're adorable when you babble.
Nostalgia is just fun to wade through sometimes. I've been remembering the Chems 2005 Coachella show with great fondness lately--especially after seeing some of your pics on Facebook from your journey to the show. :)
What an epic fucking journey: I started off driving my girlfriend, another friend and I from Santa Cruz to San Francisco, picking up another friend in SF, hopping over to Oakland to see the show, dropping my friend from SF back in the city, driving -back- to Santa Cruz to drop off my girlfriend, then driving all the way down to my parents house in Redlands to take a quick 3 hour nap before heading over to Coachella.
The energy that I had was impressive...

Funny - I was listening to parts of the Coachella 2005 bootie on my iPod today. I haven't listened to that set as a whole in a long, long time. Even though I wasn't listening to the set in one continuous stretch, whenever a song from that set came on I was transported back in time to that beautiful, sweaty and loved up place in the Sahara tent.
*sniffle sniffle* It was beautiful, man!!!

The lineup is due out soon! I heard Coachella is introducing a Layaway Plan for tickets this year.

Darn, Pooter look what you've done. You should know that using "Chemical Brothers" and "Coachella" in the same sentence - or hell, in the same thread for that matter - manages to rile me up every time. Now I'm sitting here staring out the window, day dreaming of Coachella. If it were raining outside my window, my silly daydreaming would be even more pathetic. :lol:
I'm trying to find that bit Errol wrote on myspace shortly after the US tour for We Are The Night ended - the bit where he talks about getting the Chems to Coachella. But I can't find it.
So... Errol - help us Errol-one-kenobi!! Use your masterful Chemical networking, jedi mind tricks, whatever!! You're our only hope! And a promise is a promise - I owe you tacos, dammit!
