Nude Night, Erotic Discourse, Don't Fight Control, Sgt. Pepper's reprise, Freestyle/Metro LA edit, many many memories from probably the best night of my life.

hmm, well. hmm. maybe sometime I'll manage to go to England for a chemical brothers DJ experience. hmm. maybe.

- btw: ACIDCHILDREN: nothing wrong with starting a sentence with conjunctions; just think about what the period really means

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

In genral I see it as poor English to use 'And' at the start of a sentence. Having said that, when I studied A-Level English we discussed how the language is changeing, for example text talk coming in and new words being coined, progression or decay?

It used to bother me a lot when I saw constant poor spelling and grammatical errors on message boards. That was me being particular, and that was years ago. It doesn't bother me that much anymore. People post and have a chance to say their piece and move on to the next thing and if your fingers are flying and your mind is racing, things like spelling and grammar tend to get overlooked. Plus my spelling and grammar is not always perfect, so... Add that in with the varying ways certain things are spelled (some spell neighbor, others spell neighbour etc) as well as some who's first language isn't English, and there has to be some leeway. As ACID pointed out he has his reasons, too.

I'm not a big fan of texting in posts, though. It's understandable when you're actually texting someone by phone, and it's not too bad if it crops up in posts from time to time (usually it does here when we're joking around) but it's plain lazy if you're text-style posting constantly when you have the whole keyboard/alphabet right in front of you.

Cheers Whirly I glad you understand.

The point I was making was that PRATS like madpooter shouldn't get shitty about others use of language, esspecially when they do not use it properly themselves.

Personally Im also nt a fan of txt tlk!

Back to topic, I wonder when the chems will next dj?

Not soon enough Acid. I need a Chems DJ hit, couldn't make it to Fabric and not missed a Chems DJ set in England since 2000.

What were the sets like pre 2000? Didnt they play the dome in 1999/2000 NYE?

we were at ally pally.

memories are sketchy for obvious reasons..

delta sun bottleneck stomp was a massive rave piano moment for our crew. still makes me shiver when I hear it....in fact it's still a big end of night tune with me and mips when we dj.

I remember tom and ed having some problems with the needle skipping....a problematic record was wrenched from the turntable and dave clarkes version of chemical beats was slammed in - got a MASSIVE cheer..

after the chems I remember a very surreal moment as mark jones (wall of sound fella) played the o-jays love train and a massive room full of people made a train around the room. like a sort of messy acid house wedding reception.

also

the toilets being utterly disgusting, urinals overflowing and people basically peeing into the middle of a room flooded with urine.

mips off his chops dancing with a wooly hat on until the health implications were pointed out...also the fact that he'd 'indulged' before even we got the train from hampshire to london....the defintion of up for it.

got some photos somewhere at home, if I can find a way of scanning them I'll try and post them..

cheb xx

I don't expect people to take grammar corrections personally. It bothers me, though, when people are lazy about it.

And for the record, I realize that I'm a smug prick about it. ;-) It's my way of having fun with life.

But Acidchildren, if you'd like to bicker about it, how would one spell awesome and amazing with an elongated and accented emphasis on the 'w' and 'a' respectively in written English?

hehe, Pooter, I know you like to party. And you seem to have enough fun for everyone while you're at it.
