Yeah, I'm not going to argue his quality or whether his reputation is deserved or anything but I had a fantastic night regardless. He had the largest crowd to a Winnipeg electronic music event ever in the palm of his hand, I had an MDMAzing time, and other things were, er, interesting. Sometimes that's what it's all about. I could nitpick at his set (well, I couldn't really, since I don't know trance very well) but he crafted a good experience.

There's nothing wrong with being a trainspotter and picking out nuances that separate an average DJ from a great one. But if you're not there in the mood to have a great time, why are you there? I knew it would be a good night out regardless of what he played. And I have to give him credit for being a great sport and playing an extra hour after the bomb threat delay.

Ok,Tiesto has no problem,to fill a stadion and play in front of 50000 people.I see him about 5 times in my life and the sets are all the same. And i can remember, that the crowd was very young,so he is the Dj for the young-generation

Right on, Darkstar! I knew you'd have a good time and would make the most of it. I mean really. Darstar + a pocketful of pills... kind of hard not to have a good night out. Tiesto was a champ for going the extra mile and playing out the last hour when he could've called it quits.

As for your friend Cathy. Sounds like she makes a really nice arm doyley. She's obviously fun to hang with, but I feel sorry for her boyfriend... and that's all I'm going to say, because it's not my place.

She's a great girl and really bright and truly one of my closest friends but quite the headfuck. 'A bit squirrelly' someone once described her as; probably apropos. Of course, last night it was like nothing had happened. This morning I was a bit sketched and exhausted and in a foul mood. She'd gotten back in my head again for a bit... Ah well, I'm back on track again. At least I realize when I'm barking up the wrong tree. Not that I stop doing it, but at least I realize.

Timberlake was a really, very good concert though. Loudest crowd I've ever seen at any event, best produced show I've ever seen, and a sound system almost in the same ballpark as the Chems. Obviously it wasn't as personally important or emotionally satisfying as the Chems or Roger Waters but it was probably the most professional and technically excellent concert I've ever seen. And he played for nearly 2 1/2 hours. Impressive show. He's really not the enemy. Plenty of crap pop out there to rag on but I think he deserves a hand. Very humble and charming, too. Highlights: Cry Me A River, What Comes Around. Oh, and the MDA made it a little bit more enhanced.

Went to a friend's house party for a bit after, then out clubbing for a very short while because I wanted to see this girl from school.

Who woulda thought that I'd have to be giving thumbs up to Tiesto and Timberlake live inside a week? Like I say, still not life-changing music, but perhaps not deserving of the negative reps they have in some quarters.

Dick in a box.
