Ok, you know the part where the train passes the factory where it's get's dark in the video? And the train slows down as it's coming to the station? And you ever wonder wat the lyrics in that part of the video Says? Well it goes like this:
"You should see what I see"
"You should say what I say"
This has been repeated 15-20 times through out the end of the song.

Then shouldn't they also sing "Star Guitar in the song also?
Maybe I shouldn't be, but I am confused. What do you mean - that because the song is called "Star Guitar", then the words: "star" and "guitar" need to be in the lyrics?
If that's the case it's neither here nor there. It's just a name for a song (more than likely inspired by tripping out some guitar sounds) - imo the lyrics are an extra added bonus that are there to help invoke a certain feeling while listening to it...

why on earth should they sing the words 'star guitar' on the tune. what a stupid idea.
the reason if i remember correctly that it was called star guitar was because the guitar was the star of the tune!! it was something that tom had played on his guitar for many years. and a tune that they could only record and do justice to when they got hold of the MIDI guitars.
i hate the thinking that the title of a track must be the same as the vocal hook or vice versa. its a very commercial idea. like in the house scene. there are so many tunes that start life as great instrumental tracks. then the majors sign the track up for a commercial release, and want to put a vocal on the track, cos vocal hooks sell bet than instrumentals. then someone sings these utterly crap lyrics and uses the original track title in the chorus. it's very backwards of making pop music

Ah thanks sneakerbeater, I knew the title had something to do with a guitar line and tripping it out but I just didn't remember reading all the details! I totally agree on the pop formula bit you said, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't - even though there's a ton of songs I love where the title is in the chorus or somewhere in the lyrics.
I really dig the names of Chemical Brothers tunes - some are quite serious and are thinky and others are really amusing, almost in an inside-joke kind of way. I first thought their titles to be real strange for the songs but I think they are a good fit for the reasons I just stated.

yes the chems do come up with great track titles. i cant help but think that if 'here come the drums' sees the light of day it will have a better title than that.
mmm i got all these great thread ideas, but i'm gonna wait till we get 'chemical playground'. i think a thread of bizzar song titles is definately needed

i thought that battle weapons came from the scratch mix / hip hop fraternity. and the idea is that you have a 12" vinyl with accapellas or loops of breaks or sound effects. in short they are dj tools.
i suppose to the chemical brothers there electronic 'battle weapons' is a dj tool too, but more for a road testing new tracks.

hahaha! Teeth fillings - funny, I thought of that when I first heard of that song...
As for My Elastic Eye I haven't a clue - but it sounds, uh, like something to do with opening up the 3rd eye, real trippy. I guess it's all up to how a person interprets it. Or not. What do I really know?
