It depends on what is more important for Tom.

That's why I think that if you're a musician or artist or actor, you MUST NOT have a wife and kids. Otherwise, fans will hate you if you quit because of your family.

I cannot not even begin to comprehend the ridiculousness of that statement.

Sorry I was so off when I wrote my last post. I was kinda rude and I apologize.

I just think it's a bit crazy when people think you can't have it all, or shouldn't have it all - as if having a significant other or a child somehow hinders an artists' ability to create more art. Art is supposed to imitate life, or at least draw from it. Love happens and so do children, there should be no rules as to who should be artists and who shouldn't when spouses and kids come into the picture. Personally if Tom and Ed suddenly said, "you know what, we're going to move to a remote village on the southern Mexican coast, eat lobster all day and have babies with our wives until the end of time" then I say great, thanks for the memories and the great music I have now, and give them my blessings - more power to them! In essense, they really don't owe us anything. We're just really lucky to have their art as a part of our lives.

And who's to say except them, that their significant others and (in Tom's case, his child) don't offer inspiration and joy that they can put into their music? ;)

And who knows anType, you may meet the woman you want to marry tomorrow and after that, who knows? I personally had all these plans for independence and all that, then when I was 22 I met the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. And the rest is history in the making and I don't regret a thing. Not one thing, I chose the path I'm on. Love happens and it's a great and powerful thing.

No, you're not being annoying! I have a son, Connor is his name, who is 5.

(He's also a fan of The Private Psychadelic Reel - which he calls his "blue song" and Star Guitar - which he calls his "train song." Muahaha! He has the kind of open ears I always wanted in a child)

My son is a big fan of trains, he fell instantly in love with the Star Guitar video.

He calls the Private Psychadelic Reel his "blue song" because blue is his favorite color, and all things blue are cool, the Dig Your Own Hole cd is blue-ish - voila! He still has a bit of trouble pronouncing Psychadelic but he's gotten quite good at immitating some of the sounds in TPPR. It's realy kind of cute!

No pop fodder if we can help it, my son listens to whatever my husband and I listen to and he doesn't complain although Prodigy kind of scares him. I am thankful he was never into kids' music like the Barney or Raffi and stuff like that. I would drive off a cliff if my son made me listen to that in the car!

Sorry to blast you all with kid stories. I know how boring they can be!

Awww thanks for the kind words! :) Sad to say, my son did indeed go through a teletubbies phase back when the teletubbies were all the rage 3 years ago. It was short lived but it took "uh oooooooooooh" a long time to work it's way out of the household system. He just missed the Barney boat Thank GAWD! No Bob The Friggen Builder either.(they did a horrible remake of Mambo number 5 that was in competition with the Chems on the UK charts, wtf?) He's older now so all those programmes geared toward toddlers hold no appeal to him whatsoever. Thank heavens for small favors! ;)

I've yet to hear any remixes of children's songs. I've heard enough of them in their original format so I don't think I'd be willing to sit through an extended remix of them. Even if it were Tom and Ed behind it!

And what the hell are the Fooglies??? Let me know so I can avoid them.
