Yeah, I definitely get the feeling that they approached making this record with a fresh spike of energy after taking a look back and releasing the Singles - like they are on a renewed path ready to conquer the next step of their careers. They are certainly on a roll.
Not that Push The Button is ever far away from my cd player, but I'm really excited and curious to hear the "evil twin" of this record...

I don't think there's any more mention of this "demented sounds" LP since that original quote from Tom and Ed. :(
Or maybe there is, i'm not sure! This place has been cluttered up the ying-yang recently. X-D

before that, however the brothers chemical plan to get back into the studio, first fruits of which may apperaring sooner than you'd think. "we.ve got a lot of stuff, quite demented stuff, that was left off 'push the button'," explains simons animatedly.
"we've got every intention of filling our time off from the tour making a new record. we're gonna finish that off quite quickly," tom interjects.
......"so the big plan's to make an album of electronic madness and see how palatable that come's out."
This quote should be stickied somewhere so I don't have to keep posting it. ;) Still, I never get sick of reading it. :D
The Chemical Brothers present : "an album of electronic madness"..... ohhhhh yeah. :-D

When I listen, I long for something like 'Come with Us' (the track, that is), which sort of had those strings but faster and more intense, I really dig that. Don't get me wrong, I do like the track, but to really feel it, I need to hear it live, I think... I need to hear the Chemical Brothers live!! Just once, please!!!
That's exactly what I thought! I needed to hear 'Believe' live. So, I went to Brixton Academy last month and was ecstatic when I heard the beginnings of a blinding bassline, only for the track to be cut off in its prime!!! GUTTED! But, having said that, don't let that put you off! A taste of it live was better than none and you're right, you should expeience The Chems live - and you will!

I bought PTB the day it came out here, a few months and manymany listens later i still think that Hold Tight London is one of the most beautiful and faantastic tracks ever. It certainly is my fav off PTB, with Surface To Air not too far behind. Both of these were amazing played live wen i saw the chems ( 8O holy fuck i can't believe its a month ago today since that gig!) in dublin last month
