I really like 'Come Inside', i was trying to think about what it reminds me of. Then i thought about going to the dentist cause theres allways a pleasent female voice, then u go in and they have drills, just like the tune with the weird noises that i think sound like drills. Or maybe even going to a blood test cause after the track u feel like something has been sucked from you.

Aaaargh, dentists' drills! There's only one thing worse than having your teeth drilled and that's being forced to listen to Keane.

hehe, dentist drills! Would you like to come in now, would you like to come inside, we're ready to inflict a pain like no other on your jaw!

I can kinda see that, Purple Haze has got a real insistant beat, a bit like Left Right.

Not that much though.

If I had to circumscribe that album i would say it's a gooseflesh evoking, sophisticated, high-end quality record. Chemicals at their's best, considering the structure, creativity, with the love to the detail.

Beginning with the first track you're taken on a journey you can't evade.

When you CLOSE YOUR EYES, pictures and images walking through your mind. It's like starting in Asia, the land of sunrise (Galvanize) and ending your day trip with a big red glowing sunset somewhere on earth that brings SURFACE TO AIR...

Man. what a record can't get enough.

The brothers don't gonna work it out, they've worked it out, definitely.

I have to thank the brothers, they don't neglect their weakness for break and big beats, what i was fearing (cause i love that style as you may know). There is erverything for everyone's taste on this record i think. They've shown again their variety and their feeling for musical combination of different things without abolishing their roots.

When i was reading all the reviews and comments of music magazines and threads to the new album i was wondering how it will sound like, more in a way i maybe could dislike? NO!, no no no. I put on the headphones in my local store and my smiling was growing from track to track until it reached both ears. It eclipsed all the stupid f*****s saying shit about that album and accusing it to be nothing special or what. They either did't listen or haven't no sense of quality music. Someone here on this forum said, critics would have reviewed positively, if they had been newcomers. And yes, to those, who were writing "it's nothing spectacular" or "it's nothing new" let me say reading such crap brings on the impression they wrote it years ago to pull down the next release whatever it would sound like!!! That isn't objective at all... This is yellow press thinking like "We build you up, and tear you down!"

But, so what, who cares.

That's for praising.

Now a thing which bothered me while listening:

- some tracks could be a bit longer (like surface to air, the boxer, come inside or shakebrakebounce) similar to pioneer skies on CWU, great but short a little. the total playtime could be up to at least 67 minutes or something...

but that doesn't harm records premium quality at all!!!

It harms Surface to Air a little, I'd like to put in a request for an extended version of that.

Of course, last time this happened with Pioneer Skies, we didn't get it, so...

Didnt wake up this morning to PTB music in my head, what going on whirly?

How would you guys compare this to the previous albums?

Id say it is most simular to surrender. I think it takes the good bits such as hip hop(DYOH & EPD), balads(CWU), acid(Surrender) and chilled(CWU) from the other albums, which is very good.

Yeah, that's sort of what my husband said about that sample - but he guessed "reach out and make the world better and better"

Of course, I said, "there's a fucking animal in Eric's house"

Oh wait. Wrong song!

OK, after a few (many of course) listens to PTB, I have my definitive answer for this now age-old question.. hehe. So what *I* really think it says at the Surface to Air (beautiful track) is:

"We help to make the world a little bit better."

I think the same as you, if I have to say which album is similar to this one, it's Surrender.

Several people have compared Surface To Air to Orbital's One Perfect Sunrise, although the only real similarity is that both are very chilled, extended tracks.

One thing nobody seems to have picked up on is the fact that Surface To Air incorporates elements of the gradual build-up in U2's Where The Streets Have No Name.

Surface to Air sounds like Orbital, bust just at the beggining, then it's a typical chem bros song. :)
