an article about MGMT. Near the end they talk about a new MGMT album which may include a collaboration with The Chemical Brothers.

Me likey, if this happens.

(Sorry for the new thread, I tried bumping an old collab thread but none of them are working)

he play beats,
He don't need no music sheets,
but with a snip-snip-snippy-snip
gave his mop a chop,
Old man hairstyles are a flop.

Oh yeah, and for those who haven't heard of them or dont have their debut album 'Oracular Spectacular'. Be sure to purchase it. Best way I would describe them as, is a young, funky, Flaming Lips. The song 'Kids' and 'Electric Feel' are worth the purchase alone. 'Handshake' is pretty awesome too...

well it says that it is an idea for the future in the article (right at the bottom). I would be interesting. It sounds like Tom and Ed could be busy with collaborations in the near future after they are done touring. Oasis, MGMT....whose nxt. Looks like we'll be getting another album in the future (THough probably not till 2010).

As for MGMT and an opinion from me. Can't say I have much. I heard an interview with them on Q with Jian Gomeshi on CBC Radio 1 a few months back and...well they sounded like stuck up music snobs in the interview. Maybe it was the way I was that day though. I've really only heard two of their tracks and it wasn't much to go on. Anything that is a chems collaboration will get a listen and a lot of scrutiny from me, and many of us here.

Whatever happened to the Beth Orton collab? I haven't heard anything other than that it will exist.

This is good news. If there's one good thing the iTunes store does, it's that it has that Free Single of the Week. They had MGMT that week and then I went out and bought the album afterwards.
