If Tiesto gets to fucking do something for the Olympics, I think it's safe to say the chem bros can contribute.

I'm sad Chicago didn't get picked. I wasn't planning on staying here after college but that could have kept me here.

I'll just put this out there but I thought the London 2012 bit at the Chinese closing ceremonies looked flat and kitschy. And it's a shame because it could have displayed a lot of flair, pomp and circumstance. If the London 2012 bit at the Olympics' closing ceremonies in China is any indication of what's in store - then no, can't really say I see the Chems having any part in contributing. The closing ceremony had Leona Lewis representing London 2012. I think there was a cheesy Beatles nod, too. I recall shaking my head.

I'm not against the Chems contributing in some way since it would be a tremendous honor to be a part of something historic like the game. But I'm going to have to agree with Ryno and what he predicts the London host showcasing during the opening ceremonies.

After all the unforgettable razzle dazzle of China's opening ceremonies (which kind of looked like a Chemical Brothers gig on steroids anyway), London is going to have to step up their game. Then again, China's opening ceremony is going to be a tough for anyone to follow.

Opening ceremonies aside, I think London will be a gracious host for the 2012 games.

London will probably go the other way and - in comparison to Beijing - go a bit more low key. There's not even any point trying to compete with what Beijing did. If I were to put money on it, I'd go for it being more forward looking - children being tomorrow's future, focus on the environment and legacy of the Games, etc.

The organisers took a fair amount of flack over the UK contribution at the closing ceremony, so it's probably fair to say we won't see another Leona/Jimmy Page duet on top of a double decker bus...

well since everyone is putting down the idea of them part taking in the ceremonies. What about possibility of new olympic events? Ladder Climbing would be perfect for Ed!

And yes, I'll take that escort.

This old man,
he play beats,
He don't need no music sheets,
but with a snip-snip-snippy-snip
gave his mop a chop,
Old man hairstyles are a flop.

Olympic ladder climbing! AMAZING!

Yes, Mr. Simons would be a prime candidate for competition.
