Skylined :

I have to thank one more person that isn?t with me anymore, Juan.

You might remember that I said ?This one is for you Juancho!?, before The Prodigy started playing, it was because of him.

He was the one that one day showed me a CD with a crab on its cover, put it into the CD player and I fell in love with that sound. That was back in 1997, and of course, that CD was The Prodigy?s The Fat of the Land.

This is so beautifull what you said here , it hit me right in my heart man , it gave me goosebumps. I had a similar experience with the Chems 18 & 19 March so i totallty TOTALLY understand u. Music is a medicine . Def.

I'm glad you had such an ace time. I like how nyou put every detail in your review and you made me laugh more than once!

And no , i DONT wanna see that pic :P

Foxboy , i glad to see you had a good time and went ape! Thats what it's all about man!

How can you miss Poison and Voodoo People?! 8O

That was why I didn't want to go all the way to the front. ;)

There's a kind of music for each and every moment of your life.

I don't need alcohol nor drugs to have fun, just music.

;)

Which of the two pics, the one of me naked or the one with my bruises and stuff? :P X-D

I tried to do my best, and I just wanted to tell you how I lived that party, and not just a "Music Review". If you want one, go buy a magazine. ;) :P

I'm glad that you liked it and that you had some fun. :)

Well, my review goes like this.

Starts in school, where i just couldnt wait to get out and get ready for The Prodigy.. The review that skylined has posted had made me more eager to see them. My mum wrote me a note so i could get out early (fairplay). I kept listening to songs in my head by the prodigy the whole day until ya know it finally happend.

So when i get home, i turn my Stereo up pretty loud and stick on some Prodigy tunes ( my mum was out so i wasnt annoying anyone ) I got washed and changed into suitable clothing for a kickass party. I put my ticket in my passport and into my backpocket, but then remembered i was only 15 :P, and if i took out my passport infront of them they might have asked me for ID or something, and it says im 15, so i would have gotten knocked back. So basically i scratched the passport thing and just packed the ticket.

It was 4 O'Clock and i had wanted to head in around 4.30 and get in there as soon as the gates opened (i like to be at the concert early), but the guy i was going with said he wasnt able to get his ticket to about 6.30(when the gates opened). I began to get a bit worried cause i didnt want to go down on my own and risk being a loner all night, but i was sure id meet someone id know for definate cause im just that kinda guy and also i knew a few guys going including my brother and some of his friends and a bunch of people i know from Befast's Town.

I was in a bit of a mess so i decided id go to kristians house ( the guy i was going with ) and wait for him and we could go together, but before i went i needed a bit of money incase i wanted something at the venue, only got 10pounds but sure better than nothing :) ( i didnt even spend it ). My mum was like 'Be Careful' and stuff and 'Do you not want to take a coat', and i was saying Noo.. its ok .. im alrite.. itll be really warm there. We came to an agreement when i said ill be careful and i took a backpack and put a coat in it.

Then i made my way to kristians house, on the way i had to walk by a dodgey estate which kinda freaked me out, it was full of chav's etc but it was fine, i made it to Kris' house in full health :P

Because Kris is only 14 (yr 9) and i was 15(yr 11) his mum was tellin me to look after him, and I, with a bit of experience was saying yeh ill look out for him ( kinda saying that so she wudnt freak out and not let him go) but all in all i was gonna look out for the kid like, cause i was kinda afraid id get eaten up by the crowd never mind him :P

The girl came with his tickets ( a friend of his mums ) and she had this really nice car that we travelled in :D. We parked behind the venue and got out, I left my backpack in the car cause i wasnt liking the idea of keepin it on while being in a compressed space.

We made our way round to the front and we walked past these really cool looking double decker buses that were definately for one of the bands, it had a munch table in it and a LCD Tv upstairs at the back, not your normal shit like.

As we were walking across the front of the Odyssey arena, i seen this guy who kind of looked firmaler.. then i had finally recognised him (I truely love music for this)

For those who read my review on the faithless gig, i think i might have mentioned him, Ill just recap, at the faithless gig i had to bail out cause i was gettin crushed, good thing too cause i met this really cool guy, that was saying 'i have to get ur number' being really friendly and stuff, we tagged along at faithless, but we lost each other and never got out numbers sorted out.

Well, there he was.. "Beastie".. I wasnt sure it was him and didnt exactly want to start barchin over saying well hello hello, remember me? so i shout in the opposite dierection 'BEASTIE!' and i seen his head turn round.. so i knew it was him and made my way towards him.. he looked up and seen me as if like wtf? and i was saying '' ya not remember me?.....??'' he was looking like he'd recognised me and said 'hmm.....wait...YEH!!..YOUR THE GUY FROM FAITHLESS..emm..FOX?!'' I said 'YEH!, YOU REMEMBERED!!' he was like COME ON DUDE GIVE ME A HUG! :P And we were like talking for a while saying how cool it was coming back together.., It was meant to be :'(

He said this time ' Now i definately have to get your number' so we exchanged numbers and he said he'd see me inside hopefully, we never met inside though but i got his number like so he said if hes ever up in Belfast he'd gimme a call. He was also telling me about this kind of group he was in and that they did sets in some bars and he'd give me the link to his website and stuff. So ill proably post it up here later on(next month or something.. thats when he said itll be up)

So we say we'll meet up inside, and i start to catch up with Kristian and Linda ( his mums friend, who drove us ). There was no rush to get in, so hardly anyone was there and we finally got in, Linda went to the bar until Prodigy were set to come on, Kris came with me to the very front werre i met up with a bunch of people i knew. I guess there was nothing better to do than stand there... Front Row Centre :D).

We were listening to these DJ's ( i think they wer called BackStage Sluts. They did alot of Chemical Brothers Remixes and tbh they sounded like bolloxe, I was thinking to myself, ya cant remix chemical brothers songs :P theyre too ace to remix!

There was this song on and this guy called Ben who apparently had 2 e's, was standing beside me in my ear saying why i wasnt taken any drugs any drugs.. and i was like.. ahhh dont like em.. not my thing.. ( cause i like to be completely sober ) but he wudnt have understood that in his state. Anyway, this song was on and he keep going BONG BONG, in my ear it was like a HONK HONK sort of sound that wasnt in the actual song.. he was trippin out like, and i was like.. ffs mate, fuck off and leave me alone.. But i didnt want to start a fight or anything so i just moved somewhere else, still up front just a bit to the right.

After the DJ's had gone off, a band called 'NOISE CONTROL' came on.. they were using Live instruments and the Vocals was like Rap, so they were kind of like the audio bullys but not as good and sang about things like 'How're You Feelin' and 'Respect To All'.

They sand a good song that went a bit like 'We're going back back, We're going back back.. We're going back back..back back..back.. back back back' I liked that alot.. it got faster each time, it got the crowd going a little, but not alot they played about 5-7 songs in-total and then left stage.

The Dj's to came back on. They played HBHG, which funny enuf.. got the crowd going quite abit.. Especially me :P I was the only one going Ape as such.. Everyone knew the lyrics and sang along but because it was a remix it kind of spoilt it :(

It was 9 o'clock, prodigy were due to come on.. it turned to 9.15.. Prodigy.. Still not on.. i was gettin anxious now.. and it reminded me of Skylined's review how he said he had to wait, i told Kris about it (he's been lurkin on the forums reading the review) he said maybe its something to do with the show.. get the crowd all anxious for when they come on?, i was like ahh maybe so?.. Who knows?

I could see guys doing Soundchecks and stuff. The set was a big Red sheet, which was to come down.. me and kris knew it was going to fall..

Any second the prodigy wud come on, and id see them walk on stage cause i was right next to this kind of 'Corridor' (bit like Sky desribed but it was not a corridor it wa smore like a walk on stage but the curtain was pulled back. The Seatin area wasnt as filled either, and it stayed like that most of the night.. But everyone know why that is, you dont sit at these kind of gigs.

It went all dark, and i cud see this figure emerge from the background of the 'corridor' and the lights struck him as he got to the front. It was LAIM!, Everyone started cheering and shouting, incl myself! He bowed to the crowd, and got up on his big fuck off piece of equipment (the Weapon ;))

He made sound, it wasnt a song it was just sound, then The gutarist came on, basically it was an amazing entrance.. Keith came runnin on and did laps up and down the front of the stage. Maxim appeared on top of this big cylinder up behind Laim and in the Dark, It all happend so fast it was quite an entrace!

Then Laim started the 'Wake Up Call', and Maxim was singin, the crowd were gettin out the energy they had been charging.

I think it changed to "Crazy Man" (they played it im almost sure, but i dont know what order they came in on, but it was one of the early songs they played this

The crowd were going completely crazy and i was being pressed up against these two girls who were quite big and trying to go ape at the same tiem.. The EventSec seen them and pulled them out cause they were gettin crushed so bad. (not by me though, i was being forced up onto them) So when they got out i got my front row seat! I was sooooo excited and just givin it my all, I could jump due to the pressure, but any part of my body i could move, was moving.. mostly my head.. over the barriers headbanging :D, going nuttSS!!

The song changed to 'Their Law', as soon as i heard this tune, i just shouted, I felt as if i was the only one who knew what was going on :? i later found out that i wasnt the only one (thank fuck :D) Like i said i was giving it my all, i wasnt stopping, and i didnt care for anything else apart from giving my all and going completely nuts! I sang along to almost every song.

After this No Good was on and i was still boppin it out going completely mad, while Keith and Maxim just belted it out, Keith and maxim came down to my side of the crowd on a numerous of oascasions (with the security of course:P) I got to touch him just about with my finger tips then he moved on to the other side.

Then Action Radar came on, i reallly enjoyed this song, i knew id heard it but wasnt as firmalar with it as i was with the other songs, Im now completely attached to it :D. I coudlnt stop now, i was on fire going nuts over the barrier not giving a crap about being pushed! It was all in the name of Concert Spirit!, and they seemed to play songs at the start that matched the crowds kind of 'Mood'

This is the part i talked about before, now it went all quite!.. and everyone clapped and cheered.. Oh yeh.. Kristian was well out of my sight by now after i got Front row when them girls got lifted out, i thought about Kris and just thought.. 'Omg..hes dead :P, the crowd have had to have eaten him by now!'

Anyway, the clapping and cheering died down a bit, and Keith and Maxim were right in front of me on stage.. and were just sitting there, all i cud think about though was Jericho.. so just out of the blue really, i shout..JERICIHO!!....PLAY FUCKIN JERICHO!! AHRHR!!!..*Waving Arms inf rotn*....OMG!!...JEEEEERRIICHOO!!!!!

I got the impression people were lookin at me as if i was a complete nut case but i really didnt care! Especially when they started to play it 8)

The tune just started.. and i was waiting for it to kick in.. and when it did.........APE!!!!.....Complete... I got a bit of space and gripped the barrier and soared myself as far as i cud into the air (pogo Style).. i sang along with Keith and Maxim and was shouting KEEPP ON DANCING!! :D

I really enjoyed this track.. as i was the one who suggested it.. either that or i was psychic, either one is good :D

The same thing happend after Jericho, Clapping and Cheering and i was not moving at this point, but i wanted to.. it was silent.. and i was shouting SMAACKK MY BITCH UPP.. in a sort of question way like, Play SMBU? no? BACK 2 SKOOL!!:D Yeh.. BACK 2 SKOOL!!... BAAACKKK!! 2!!!! SKOOOL!!!.. Again i got the impression that people were thinkin i was completely mad but i didnt care.... Especially...(again) when they played it :D 8)

Sorry, if this is gettin a bit long i didnt want to spilt it up, just to get it all out, whilst my memory is still a bit fresh.

Hotride started playing and i started to loose control a bit and go nuts along with everyone else..

Next after that, Spitfire.. I sang along with with the band to almost every word i could remember (which i think was all..not sure) while jumping and flyin my arms in the air..

When breathe came on it had imeddiate effect onthe crowd and everyone just knew what was coming.. a session of wildness :D

There were the kind of songs that everyone wud dance to even it if was poor in there opinion, then the kind of songs that they put that little bit extra into going wild to.. for example

Firestarter!, which was the Encore of the previous Wild session :)

(im not sure about the order:P i hope its right)

And even if your not a prodigy fan you still know this tune! i mean Its a HIT!, the drums in it are soo good too! i was doing the drums with my hands b4 the Good part kicked in!

After that they went off, and everyone chanted WE WANT MORE/ONE MORE TUNE!

So laim arrived back on stage to kick it all back off with... Claustophic Sting.. and he only played a little of it, which was a bit of a shame cause id love to hear this live and to get all out of control with the crowd to it :D

I was hissing 'MY MIND IS BLOWWING!' even when it wasnt the right time!

The best song of the nigght was Truely Smack My Bitch up.. The last three IMO everyone grouped together for these songs, and people were trying to get the crowd goign as much as they cud to show that us belfast crowds are truely truely.. the best :P (seemt that way anyway)

By this point, i had lost my front row due to pushing and stuff, so now im in second row gettin gripped upon by bigger people, Elbows in necks, and there was this girl throughtout the whole concert feeling me up.. and i was grabbin her hand and tapping it away, like Tap tap.. no no..lol Prodigy first.. Ladies after :P and even then when i was in the second row, she was doing it, i didnt even btoher to check who it was i was to concerned about the music! But not being at the front was a bit of a problem for me, i didnt want to get crushed or anything but there was this big guy ther eholding on who was quite friendly, he was the one coaxing me to go even crazyier, and if needed anyhelp id just link onto his arm for help :D seein he was bigger!

They said they were going again, but came back and had commented on how we wanted more, basically playing with the crowd saying.. OHH BELFAST.. YOU WANT MORREE!?(maxim) YEEHHH!1(Roared the crowds of belfast)

AIIGITH AIIGHT..YOU GUYS READY!!..(Out of Space)

And we all sang to it as one..! :D

Then SMBU came on and it completely killed everyone, we were all wrecked to the excessive partying! it was unbelievable..Too Good, it was a realll experience, and prodigy just loved to make their fans happy.. Maxim got down and started shakin peoples hands! if only i had have stayed in the front row a little longer i wud have gotten to shake his hand.. aowh well :( i got to touch Keith though! and made gestures to him and he made some back! When the gig ended.. everyone made their way to the exits chanting.. ''OLAY..OLAY OLAY OLAY!!!, OLAAYY!!...OLLAAYY!!'' :D

The crowds were quite helpful all in all, from where i was.. There was also alot of crackheads and druggies too, like that guy i was teling you about, ben.. Whenever i looked back i seen them all, all wapped out of there minds on whatever it was they were taken.. :/

Cant wait until they come back.. When i got back i was wrreeckked.. i got a lift home from Linda and my mum was saying .. WHAT DRUGS HAVE YOU BEEN TAKING? im like.. Music 8)

Now I know what other people felt when they were reading my review.

Very nice and funny review there Foxy! ;)

With extra detalis, I like them. :)

Just one thing, next time you sing Claustrophobic Sting, sing MY MIND IS GLOWING! That's what the lyric says. :P

I'm glad that the 90s generation is having so much fun as the 80s generation with The Prodigy.

Did you get that girl's number. ;)

Go Foxy! :D

It's funny to see that you've taken things from my review, and remembered them, like for example the delay and the anxiety thing. :)

It's also very cool your friend lurked around the forums to read about Skylined's adventure.

I feel the same way. Of course it's handy to get the correct order of songs down just for set list's sakes. But at the end of the day, all that matters is how the songs made you feel.

I definitely got that from reading yours and Foxboy's reviews.

Thanks alot Whirlygirl, and everyone else who appreciates the joy of reading a/my review :)

I thought it was very long and whoever read it, Fairplay :D

I love being at concert and i hate it when its time to go home, but coming home to write the review makes it better cause you get to relive it again when your describing it and its good writing them here, espeically when you know your not going to get ripped off for sharing the moment, or moments :D.

I would only write my reviews here and no where else not even the local forum i attend.. i did write a kind of review there.. it was only the setlist and major things that happend. I got a decent feedback. But i knewif i had of given the same review on these forums, there, id know for a fact id get made fun of :P Which im not to worried about, but i wudnt want to waste my time putting the effort in for someone whos not gonna bother reading/appreciating it.

So thanks alot Guys

;-)
