Listening to nothing but for the last 36 hours and it is simply amazing. Always a reason to nod your head along, or full-on lose your shit.
Good on you, Tom & Ed, for putting out such a class mix 10 years ago. Where's the next one?

NME XMas Dust-Up (1994): This is a really basic no-thrills mini-dj set that was attached as a tape to the christmas issue of NME. The chems were known as the dust brothers at this time. There are only 5 songs, incliding Leave Home, Voodoo People (chem remix), and ending with the Manics. This is a good collectors item, but the mix isn't too special.
The Essential Mix (1995) Released right around the time the chems changed there name and officially took of from planet dust. This is a gem, plus it's not too hard to find. Contains tracks that are in later DJ sets. This one very cleaverly done I think. It starts off with mostly hip-hop, increases to breakbeats, and then the second part has some classic acid house tunes, a few chem songs (including a slightly longer version of "Life is Sweet"), and Tom and Ed's DJing favorite "Tommorrow Never Knows." If you like live at the social, go for this one next.
Live at the Social (1996): good album for parties, or if you're in a party mood, starts off with hip-hop, goes into some electric acid house and ends on some funky tracks (wede man = great reggae jig, + eddie bo t-h-a-n-g). Basically the set list works the same as the 95 essential mix which is the songs become faster from start to finish.
Radio Syndicated Mix (1996) (Commonly titled "BBC Unreleased Dj Set"): This sounds like a mix between Live at the Social and Brother's Gonna Work It Out because it's hip-hop tracks (some from live at the social) and funky breakbeat tracks (like BGWIO). Some odd ones in there, opens with Coup's "23 Skidoo", which has a bass like nearly identical to "Block Rockin' Beats." Also contains a rare, stripped down version of "Loops of Fury," plus an appearance of Delik.
Brothers Gonna Work It Out/ Anti-Nazi Mix (96/97): These both are very similar in selection, anti-nazi mix was another radio syndicated mix/promo that was loosely based on brother's gonna work it out, less funk and often times more rough. Both start the same, then separate after a few minutes, but come back in the middle with songs like morning lemon. Anti-nazi contains different songs like Life is Sweet (remix) and has a classic ending of a bootleg of the original live version of hey boy hey girl layered with lyrics, then the reprise version of Sgt. Peppers, and ending with TPPR.
In Glint/DJ Set in Paris (01/24/2002) (01/02): Like most chems albums (the only exceptions being Surrender and Push the Button), Come With Us started off with Tom and Ed doing DJ sets before their album release rather than live shows. These two were DJ promos, In Glint was played in the late summer of 01 as an Essential Mix. There is a bootleg titled "Dusted Decks" which is a rip of this performance. These two DJ sets marked a very different turning point: Instead of playing mostly breakbeats, hip-hop, and acid house, these sets were nearly all acid house and other styles of electronic. They made many special cuts of other peoples songs that would become common in their dj sets from now on. The difference between In Glint and DJ set in Paris is that DJ set in paris is basically a longer version of In Glint. This promo was 2 CDs and contained extras like their remixs of "Song for Shelter," "Packet of Peace," and "Open Up," plus a high-pitched version of star guitar and some good ol New Order.
Confront Your Demons (03): This was released to start promoting their singles album as many of you know. Really great if you haven't heard it. A less traditional sounding dj set too with some interesting world music and chems tracks (including a rare instrumental of Golden Path that is followed by a track called "Delta FX' which is just an element of golden path played for a minute). The ending of this one is great, they play Jimi Hendrix (not usually common for them) and build that up until it breaks into the second half of Curtis Mayfield's song "Moving on Up" which is more reminicent of stuff chems would play in 90-96. Good album for a long drive.l

Had it blaring as we streaked down the highway heading toward Phoenix this past summer.
I've yet to hear the Confront Your Demons mix - it seems like I'm missing out on something good!

Have You somewhere the complete tracklist for both parts of this mix??I would be very thankfull. BTW i download this mix from two difference sources (one in 128kbps and second in 192kbps) and both have this skidmarks-like scratches, something like errors by the riping the cd off... The 192kbps version have much less this scratches than 128kbps, but also has...Why is that??Is there the version, that is clear and without the errors??
