I am thinking there will be some vocal treatments?

I was wondering that too, thesouphead. Either maybe less vocals or vocal tweaking like with Out of Control. I suppose we'll all just have to wait for their next live tour!

I doubt if they'll put it in a live set. It reminds me a lot of let forever be, where it doesn't have that intense feel that other songs have. of course, they could totally remix it so it's better for a live show, who knows

if they did it live they should put it after ssu, I could totally imagine them having those little synth notes bouncing around following that song at some part. maybe even use the drums from studio k (as they did with hoops last tour)

hmm, not always. Those beats went out like they did in the Surrender tour at the Toronto/Mississauga show... and Hoops came in with the vocal hook and the synth. it was cool 8)

The fact that some of you actually complain about the wonderful lyrics and singing in "The Golden Path", and the ending of it with "please forgive me" is pathetic and not something I would expect from true fans.

If you really hate it as much as you do, why NOT listen to it instead of the other, and at the same time: maybe you should considering blaming the chemical brothers if you think it's bad, because - technically - THEY CONTROL THE MUSIC THAT IS MADE AND RELEASED. They love "The Golden Path" and if you cant see that it's just a song to like or dislike then you have no hope. Dont fret over songs you dont like or things you dont like from your favorite artists, because even if you disagree with the musical direction, you wont change anything. Frankly, the fact that some of you suggest a "Hate" club or swear out Wayne Coyne and now Steve Drozd of the Flaming Lips is pathetic. Totally and completely pathetic. PATHETIC. Nothing is so bad to treat someone that way, even if its said in a "comical" tone. It's just not nice.

I think the main problem here is that the chemical brothers are always experimenting and changing some of their sound and with this their main audience sometimes goes away and a new group of fans enter. Anyway, please, you dont have to like it but dont complain about a PERSON and BLAME SOMEONE for it. If you dont like it, go ahead, say so, everything is free speech - but I think some things need to be kept to yourself.

Amen, Neo! 8)

I had pretty much given up defending The Golden Path because I did it ad nauseum - all this before I went out and purchased the single, so I never gave my full opinion of the song because in doing so, the flames would fan all over again. A shame to be beaten into submission but things here got so heated. Anyway, here's my opinion for what it's worth - defending Tom, Ed, Wayne AND Drozd - I personally think The Golden Path is fucking brilliant!!!

it must be more of an acquired taste. I don't see why tom, ed, the flaming lips, and a handful of us here think this song is genius but others don't. But hey, not everyone likes sushi, nor tequila, or oysters ... and I guess golden path can go on that list.

Random banter, I was reading this book last night and they actually said "the golden path" in it, somehow it never ceases to grab me attention when I read or hear someone unintentionally say a chem song title...
