Oh and i'd use a sniper rifle, but not sure on what model. Although, I wouldn't hunt.

I want to see Children of Men... it's still not out here. I'll probably be able to download the UK dvd before it makes it to america.

Finally watched Superman Returns this weekend. Good shit.

dude, it had Kevin Spacey and Parker Posey... just those two would have made it worth watching, but the plane crash rescue? That had to be one of the best action sequences I've ever seen in any movie ever.

Oh no 'Stash. I am upset for you, they must screen a different version in america where they send subliminal messages "you love this film" to the audience.

It could have had Jack Nicholson as Luthor, but it still wouldn't have made it a great film. It was just poorly directed, and reminded me of 'The Adventures of Superman" starring Dean Cain and Terri mmm Hatcher. Just a terribe, terrible film. Ok, the CGI was most impressive, but I like my films with a bit more substance than that.

Also, please help me out here. It was the question on everybodies lips after they left the cinema: How did he manage to lift a Kryptonite island? :?

He was uber pumped up. It was just adrenaline. Plus, he was mostly shielded from the kryptonite by the bedrock of the seafloor.

pah! that's ridiculous! you could see the Kryptonite as he was lifting it up. I was greatly dissapointed by the film, but I was expecting to be dissapointed. Plus it was released near the time of Christopher Reeves death.

eh, I thought that guy did a superb job of it. I grew up with the chris reeve movies, but I never had any sort of emotional ties to the guy. He actually kinda irked me. He was like, 'Oh, I'm a rich man and I got crippled playing at a rich man's pasttime, and now everyone needs to pitch in and find a cure for me!'... cry me a fucking river, you were jumping horses when you got cripped. I'd have as much sympathy if Sir Richard Branson bought it on re-entry on one of his personal space craft.

The movie looks horrible and everyone I know who saw it told me to stay clear, but I haven't seen it so I can't comment.

A quick joke, one of my favourites: What's the opposite of Christopher Reeve?

Answer: Christopher Walken.

Aww... I liked Christopher Reeve. He lived a quiet life and never bothered anyone and wasn't tabloid fodder until the accident... He didn't want sympathy, he rallied for research and cures and his legacy has made a big impact on stem cell research. It's a shame about his wife who just died of cancer leaving their young son parentless.

That said, I liked the new Superman for the most parrt. I thought the cinemtography was nice and slick and the costume design excellent with a hint of timelessness about it. Kevin Spacey did a good job as Lex Luther, much better than Jack Nicholson would have I think (he is getting to be a little old for those types of roles plus he's already played out his comic book villian roles over 10 years ago) I didn't like the girl who played Lois Lane. She was terrible and her character kind of sucked. Overall it was action hero popcorn flick that was easy on the eyes and entertaining - it is what it is and much better than Batman Begins which put me right to sleep. As much as I loved the Chris Reeves Superman movies, I saw them a couple of months ago and the truth is, they look really dated. There's nothing wrong with a fresh new take on things. I don't think the director and certainly the kid who played the new Superman wanted to replace Christopher Reeve in any way.

I remember the death of Christopher Reeve as it was yesterday. I'll always remember it as the day that Superman died.

Anyhoe the coolest thing about Superman Returns IS Kevin Spacey. That moment he punches Superman to the ground is awesome. The rest of the movie was a bit (understatement) thin. Lois Lane has a son of 5 after a 5 year absence of Superman. Now whoms kid would that be??
