My EA-1 is sitting right next to me on the desk. It currently has the tv and stereo and dvd remotes on it, plus my rear surround speaker, plus headphones, plus a printout of the draw for the world cup.

I still love it though! :D

I don't think I've ever used the motion sequencer either. probably should check that out. I usually just do all the tweaking live.

Yeah, I reckon it really is the best first hardware synth you can get. Mine still serves me well even after the years!

Well the motion sequencer pretty much just helps you accentuate certain places in your sequence. Without it, it's all kind of flat sounding. I suppose it makes up for the lack of lfo's and velocity sensitivity pretty nicely.

I tried the motion sequencer and it seems pretty funky. Basically means I can now tweak the tweak... er yeah. Probably should sample this kit, I never have... :-//

Just bought the E-MU 0404 soundcard

And the difference is just incredible. I heard at once it was much better than my crappy multimedia card. The sound sounds more clear, I don't have those latency in FL Studio and Virtual DJ anymore, I can finaly add effect to my Alesis "Phil Collins Edition" SR16 and now it sounds much better, and I can do more than Europop-like rhythms...

Leave the V-synth out, it's naff!

Check out a Nord Lead or get some good old crusty analogue stuff (like an old Korg MS-20 or a Roland Juno 106).

I really like the look of the Dave Smith Poly Evolver, but it's waaay too much for me

bah! So i'm working on this track and load in "HitorMiss_2bar_orig.wav" to morph in and out and left to right of the main beat and it's all sounding great until I suddenly realise why the HitorMiss break sounds so familiar and awesome - It's the frickin' break from the end of Elektrobank. The one at the end with the bombs that slows down into the big bass solo jam. The one they now so obviously use in the live sets all the time! Only around 10 years too late to work with that sample. X-D X-D X-D Well back to it, now with one less perfect beat to openly use. :-D

They didn't make that beat themselves?
E(argasm) = m(usic) x c(hemicals)²

That what I couldn't believe either. It's just a straight up sample with hardly any editing.

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

eh?

some things are sampled...some are programmed, some are a combination of the two. does it matter that they lifted a loop and use it? anyway they're always utter genius at working a drum groove

consider the beats.

morning lemon - latin rascals/matronix stytle cut ups done to perfection)...tight 808 business on hoops......rolling tribal work-outs on africa...

they're as good working a breakbeat as they are at making 4/4 roll.

anyway. now I'm ranting....and it's 1.13 :?
