Choose only ONE particular song that you think is the best of 2007.

I choose

Simian Mobile Disco - Sleep Deprivation

I'm in love with its catchy and melancholic chord melody, with this pure analog sound, not like all those shitty tracks made in 2mn with a laptop that you can hear on the radio or on MTV, I like the title, in which I recognize myself (I went to bed at 5AM again last night).

SMD is the new shit

Cinematic Orchestra - To Build a Home

My secret song of the year in many respects. Errie, Meldoic, and has a canadian on the vocal (Patrick Watson). Haunting chords and vocal. I know it had a lot of comparisons to coldplay but it was still a fabulous song none the less.

And now I realize that it's not a chems song but that was my biggest track last year....Also, can we start moving onto topics about THIS year

Fuck that..

What are the criteria...? Production values? Song writing? Melody? Arrangement? Emotional response? :P

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Today, if I were to pick my song of 2007, I'd go with Burst Generator.

Tomorrow may be a different story.

the stunts that James Bond does is more possible than picking one track to be THE track of '07.

But I'll do my best to pick one of the 5 million that it could easily be...

The Chemical Brothers - Das Spiegel

For it well exceeds in Production value, Song writing, Melody, Arrangement and Emotional response

Well, this sure is an original list. Do you people perhaps feel guilty when you don't pick a Chems tune as you are posting on the official Chems forum?

Anyway...

My top tune would be 'Dead Reckoning' by Clint Mansell, taken from the Smokin' Aces soundtrack. It's the music to the scene where agent Messner pulls the plugs of the 2 hospitalized men.

hmm... can choose nothing...

On the other hand I just realised what Sleep Deprivation reminds me of -- Under The Influence during the Come With Us tour.

BAH I have three:

Either, Saturate,

LCD Soundsystem: Someone Great, or

Klute: Hell Hath No Fury (no of the first drum n' bass tracks I can admit nearly crying too)

Theres probably more but I'll stick to that..(even if that might change later)

its a little early but thanks anyway

Someone great was a great track too...

I thought about that one too. I love the track but eventually at the end of the day it can leave me in a state of gloom with me thinking about my ex so...yah.....

and Hell hath No Fury, that was a 2005/2006 song for me. reminds me of trips out to British Columbia
