Good point. If they can play russia they can def play canada. I'm pretty sure they do have a fan base there though.

There's def a huge Russian dance culture - so yeah they'd be up for the Chems for sure.

The last time i saw m2f on here was in-between the ny/brooklyn gigs - they changed the TXT to "no sleep till brooklyn"

Also, if they do play Coachella next year, I'd say there's a chance they'd hit up Canada too.

but if they make it up to canada at the same time.....so many choices, so little money......

yah I remeber seeing footage somewhere of a massive event in russia on some island fortress, forget were though.

plus it's russia now, not soviet union, partially free market democracy.....more then likely a dance scene would exists......maybe even a jazz scene too......

That much is true.

Just because Russia isn't as "Americanized" as other countrys it dosn't mean there isn't a solid dance scene there. I guess anywhere really does. CANADA DOES. lol hint hint lol

To be honest, petitions CAN work. Motley Crue rearranged their last tour and added a Winnipeg date after a local radio station started a petition that attracted thousands of fans within days.

While it's true that logistics and label people may have a large say in where the tour heads, it would be foolish to think that Tom & Ed don't have some input in the matter. It certainly doesn't hurt to let them know how much they're loved up here, so long as it's done politely and with respect (which shouldn't be problem, as we're friendly Canadians, eh?).

Yeah, the dance scene has been ever growing and quite steady for a number of years now. Not long after democracy took hold there were pockets of movement in the underground and it's built up and up from there. Their economy has also exploded and there is money to be had (and spent) in club culture. My husband posted a fascinating and insightful article on here quite a while ago and it was all about the dance movement and club culture in Russia.

I wonder if any Russian people will stop by and give us some insight.

The main problem is that it's really not feasible to talk about a "Canadian tour" as such, I don't think. I think Toronto, Vancouver, and MAYBE Montreal could get shows, but I would be very surprised for shows in Calgary, Winnipeg, etc.

It would probably be of more use to get tapped into your local dance/electronic scene, get to know some promoters, get to know people, spread the word, spread the hype. If enough people start making noise, local promoters will start seeing what they can do. That's how we've gotten Tiesto, Eddie Halliwell, Roger Sanchez, Ferry Corsten, AvB here in the past bit. (It also doesn't hurt that Winnipeg is on the way to Vancouver...)

I'll see what I can do too. I'm sure if theres enough hype they could book atleast three shows. And come on. Us canadians gotta take what we can get. Toronto/montreal/vancover is fine. Its not as costly for some one from say alberta and go the the vancover show then it is to mission to the states or even europe. :s. I will talk to some people. See if theres any premoters. And maybe the whole Petition could work. There just has to be a shit load of hype behind it.

For me, living where I do, it's as easy or perhaps even moreso to go to Chicago (stupid school... grrr.....) as to Toronto or Vancouver. But certainly for most of the rest of the country, Vancity and T-Dot are very accessible.

I've been discretely putting the word out here and there around town lately.

Hmm. I don't think so. I believe he's still living in Malaysia. If he had the chance to see the Chemical Brothers I imagine he'd be so excited you'd swear he was jumping out of your computer monitor.
