So, it's that time of year again where all the eager students crawl back to class for another 8 or more months of study.

Just thought I'd see what courses and extracurricular activities everyone's into this year 'round.

Me, I'm in my second year of pharmacy at the University of Manitoba (sixth year of university proper), taking the following this semester (Sept - Dec.):

Medicinal Chemistry

Pharmacology

Jurisprudence/Pharmacy Skills Laboratory 2

Microbial Disease

Pharmaceutics/Biopharmaceutics

Clinical Pharmacy

And of course, Advanced Drinking Seminar. :D

Also, I'm holding down my part-time job, working approx. 25 hours/week at a grocery store and I captain my indoor soccer team. Recently stopped volunteering at an old folks home, due to lack of time.

Good to see all the back to school parties and beer bashes and concerts. Nice weather completes the mix.

Hope everyone else is having a good transition back!

Ugh, medicinal chemistry is nasty! All those chemical reactions and mechanism you have to remember - I hated that. Pharmaceutics isn't great either (if it's what I remember it to be), but the rest of the semester looks spot on!

School just isnt my thing.....it all fell apart last year, i just kept skipping classes and i didnt feel inspired to go. Didnt wanna study, didnt wanna do homework, didnt wanna do school work, period. Campus life on a community college campus can be quite dull (except for the many eastern european women that attend the school.......:::drool:::).

I know, I got a "poor" life to look forward to :( . But thank goodness for female liberation! Im just gonna marry a succesful woman that has alot of money and play the "ever-so-loving-broke-as-a-joke" husband.

Ive been giving some thought about going back to college part time, perhaps to learn some foreign languages (definitely wanna learn Spanish, and would love to learn french). Will see. Im in no rush but i gotta get something goin'.

Bosco, I burnt out on school too. I schlepped around community college for 3 years (straight through, I think I had myabe 1 summer off) swtiched my major a couple of times, and worked a job (sometimes 2) and I just didn't know what I wanted to do or where to go with my life. I loved school but felt school didn't love me back - there were other factors too, like home life with my parents which is a long story... I moved out and tried it on my own and let life take me where ever it would. :P Although I wonder sometimes what might have happened if I stayed in school, I don't regret the choices I made.

But life can be hard if you don't have a piece of paper saying you're a supposed expert at what you do. Then again not everyone's cut out for school.
