my question is are they going to do only 3 day passes or will they have one day passes? I'm still heaviy weighing my options between coachella, and florida with my friend. I'm almost thinking just the chems day at coachella (god and tom and ed willing). tough it's a great festival, money and heat might not agree.

Rynostar - Coachella does single day passes. At least that's how they've always done it because I've only ever gone on a single day (the day the Chems were playing of course). If the single-day passes changes I'm going to be pissed off because I'm not doing 3 days - only the day the Chems play (if they play - god I hope they play!!) The 3-day passes will sell quickly. Single day passes are limited, but they sold out last year too. With how popular Coachella has become, the likelihood of selling out is a huge possibility. Not sure about single days.
Coachella is a great festival but it has been known to get insanely hot. The last time I went in 2005 it was mercifully cooler than other times (in 1999 it was around 116 degrees, in 2001 it was over 110 degrees, in 2002 it was in the high 90's and our friend collapsed as we were walking to the venue). You just have to take care, not over do it, keep yourself and your friends in check and make sure they're taking care, too. Even with cooler temps it's still the desert which means you have to be hydrated and lay off drinking too much beer or doing too many pills (or whatever your vice is). And sunblock. Lots of sunblock perferrably the Bullfrog brand. I haven't been burned yet!
It's still a great festival, no matter what. It's just that I first went to the festival was because the Chemical Brothers were playing, so Coachella *is* the Chemical Brothers to me. It would be weird for me to go and not be seeing the Chems, but if I had it in me physically, mentally, time-wise and financially I would love to do the whole shebang - but that's not likely. That said I would recommend the fest to anyone - if it's a one-off chance you get to go to Coachella, if you can swing it financially, mentally, time-wise then take the opportunity.
Lucy, tickets usually go on sale after the first of the year, around the end of January.

Yes, I'm going to be there. Although, I don't know if I'll be driving back and forth between my parents house in Redlands or just buying a motel room there...
It would be much more fun if I didn't have to worry about transporting myself after the show. If I remember 2005 correctly, which I might not because I was completely battered, my friend drove us all home and it was a bit of an inconvenience.

So, what are our other options?
I'm gonna steal an idea away from what Whirly n' Stash did with their last trip to England.
We could wait, another 2 or so years, and hopefully Tom and Ed are still spirited enough to launch a new album (Chemical 7). And if Chemical 7 does happen we could plan a trip to Chemical HQ (London), and have a giant forum listening party.
As Whirly has mentioned, it was like Chemical Brother Disney World, Flyers all over, new tunes being played everywhere and so fourth...
Just an Idea...

hehehe, Chemical Brother Disney World! That's a fun idea Bosco, tho' stash and my trip to England was to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary/my birthday - but the recent release of Push The Button was a nice touch!
I think this meet up, as fun as it would be, is really difficult to plan due to finances, school, age, family, life responsiblities and a whole host of other reasons great and small - all of which are valid and understandable in their own way.
I think meeting up for a gig would be the best way to go. It would be a fun way to sort of... celebrate what we've got going on here. New Year's Eve is tha fun choice - lots of people turn out, plus London's such a fantastic city to visit period (but really cold that time of year). The Chems are taking a deserved break from NYE this year. Maybe they'll play NYE 2008/09 and by that time we'll all have our shit together.

A Chemical 7 listening party is the best idea i've heard so far. That would be so awesome! Just imagine a bunch of us sitting in a room together with brand new chems music playing. Imagine the looks we would have on our faces. It would be priceless!

Well, we weren't sure if we were gonna go anyway but you already booked your ticket! I don't really remember any hassle tbh :) But it's all cool.
I dunno when i can actually go anywhere in the near future. Mips and mine priorities are deffo Whirls and Stash - i dunno if this is gonna get togheter with a big meet up but i just wanna see Whirls and Stash more than anything , tbh. Oh and Darkstar too.
So my next holiday will be california. Period.

Jeanie, not to sound like a complete lesbian, but I'd really like to make love to you right about now.
No seriously though - I'd just love it if we could see each other again. We miss you and want to see you and mips badly. I hate living so far away, being geographically and financially isolated. Last visit was not nearly long enough. I have complete faith that we'll meet again. For longer, next time.

I reckon if we got enough of us together for it, Tom n Ed would play live for us at our venue! Or at least DJ, what u think? I mean it would be a musical first probably!
