staying on a Brighton tip....if anybody's local to the area>>>

pausebuttonaudio (me and mips) are hosting the backroom (well it's downstairs really...) for our friends White Rhino tonight in Brighton.

David Parr from Audio is the guest in the main room along with the rhino residents. expect techy house, breaks, electro and a good vibe

we'll be playing a ram shackle selection of funk/hip-hop/reggae/lots of disco/some chuggy electronic wobbleyness, some Balearic weirdness and probably some flexi discs given away with popular cereal brands (maybe)

it runs 11 - 4 at the Volks club on the seafront and all the money goes to saving the white rhino. charity rave indeed!

come and say hello/shake your tail feather

matt/mchebne/chebbers etc x

Nice mix ;-) Like the ending track ver app, very epic bet it created a good togetherness in the room?

My life is a boat, being blown by you. With nothing ahead, just the deepest blue... To me you're like a setting sun. You rise then you're gone.

ha. yeah it'd rather thinned out by then, dead of night etc and most peeps had scuttled off but the bar staff were having a groove which is always a good sign for an end of nighter.

I remember hurriedly packing up so we could stumble back to ours and get on it. the girls well were well ahead of us by then!...dj gigs which are less then 100 yards from your flat are to be savoured!

***

blow your whistle is by the soul searchers

the roxy music things is 'the main thing' (the rub n tug mix I think)

yer weird paddy thing mips is ilija rudman - umma

quite a safe playlist from us I think but we were a bit unsure how to play it, first time playing for rhino. plus we have previous of killing a backroom in Bristol (it was the stones - undercover of the night that clinched it!)

an audio broadcast is great idea. If I can pull my finger out I might have a bash at doing a podcast via the virtually dormant pausebutton website. (cracks out Dave Lee Travis radio voice)

chebbers x

ahhh yeh - i re-read that list after and thought it might have been illija rudman 'erm yeh, the one with the swirly sleeve' - also whats that elctro/hip hop one with the nuts FM bassline and ricketty drum machine action - got a yellow sleeve. label is poss sunshine something??

funny you should mention the podcast thing - been feeling a bit 'beats in space' inspired recently and figured the PBA web could be a good place to do our own from - hmm, lets blue sky it ya?? ;)

as for audio streaming live from the club - great idea, but lets face it it took us 20 mins to set the cdj up (to me, to you etc) so complex web based streaming might be a bit much at 1.00am!
