Finally there's a winner ! (go on the news to hear it)
By the way, the news is dated 25/01/2008... It's only the 10th, but why not ? Gonna call Marty MacFly to ask him how it is possible

Since you're new here, I'm gonna cut you a break... today. So, why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

Well, since I'm at work right now I can't weigh in with an opinion since I can't have a listen...
But weren't there complaints many moons ago that Orange Mixer had limited capabilities and wasn't exactly studio pro quality? If so, that might have had an impact when all is said and done. Then again - I haven't heard it so I can't be the judge.
The other mixes are available to listen. How do the others stack up against the winner?

Is there a proper link with a chart of all mixers participated in?
Btw, was this a package of samples you were able to remix with? Or sort of eeejay stuff - like copy and paste?
But after all there will be a third single as the text says [...]"to have your very own track released as a bundled digital release with their upcoming single."

Congrats to the winner but theres nothing about the actual process of this remix comp that even rates a second glance. It did give me access to some isolated loops though, and our remix (as in, an actual remix) is all over the internet so i cant complain. Thanks CB's :)
If you want to hear what happens when a live act gets hold of these loops:

The winner kind of feels... um.... completely unrelated to the original track -- not in a good way. The vibe is gone, so is the energy and the creativity...?
I like the comments on another of the remixes.
"The intro is immense, and the breakdown to the bass at 0:30 is great.... the chorus itself is aweomse. Definitely a potential winner, great job."
:D :D the intro, the chorus, and the break to the bass are all the original track! haha
@ Segue:
solid effort. Needs refinement and a little more tension and excitement, no offence.

Yeah its a quick knockup, so id tend to agree, but thats the point of the EBW exercise really. Once id programmed the synth and sub patches, booted up the MPC and then some simple arranging that was it, the odd Chemical stab and re-sequence the cobwell its done.
Anyway, hoping to hear other people's own EBW remixes. The concept of the EBW is to me all about getting back to simple rocking acid sounds and simple enough arrangements. No frills. "Pew Pew" synth stabs and tie line acid riffs. Puts the fun back in music that is all too often serious mixdowns and tense mastering sessions. Thanks for listening guys.

hmm interesting take on the track!
i mean its really well produced and that, but its kind of cheesy...
however! i do like the weird juxtaposition of ebw9 and this new track - they don't sound like they should work together but they kind of do in a weird sort of way.
i wonder who judges who wins these things... i thought the same about the myspace remix competition... would be interested to find out anyway...
