There are no words to accurately describe how a Chemical Brothers concert makes you feel! It's just very hard to explain, because I think there's a universal appeal to their shows but each experience is (or can be) a very personal experience.

I don't think you have to be a big Chems fan to enjoy what they have to offer. I've seen it in that coachella thread I made, and I've seen it with my brother-in-law, and I've seen it with my coworker. Their shows do something to your brain, they do something to you that's hard to put into words.

Anyway - I think a lot can change in your perception when you see a Chems gig. There were some things that changed after I saw them... It would be very hard, being such a big fan like you are, to not be affected in a positive way by the live doings of Tom and Ed. You may notice patterns in their songs that emerge that maybe you didn't catch before. Or maybe a song or 2 will finally "click" and you'll have a sort of epiphany. You may walk away with a new found love and appreciation for something that really didn't do it for you in the past.

Either way, you're going to be affected and I think it will be a positive experience for you. What a great opportunity for you to see the Chems after waiting for so long! I really think you're going to enjoy yourself - remember to turn off your mind, relax and float down stream and the music will take care of the rest. :D

Its so weird what a chems gig does, feels like the music opens up all your senses and that you are on the next level where theres another dimension.

You're so right, ACIDCHILDREN! That's kind of what my brother-in-law said. Next gig... the twilight zone!! X-D

They were my favourite musical artists beforehand, but seeing them live has taken it to a new level. I can scarcely think about anything else the last week or so. Even my excitement at Liverpool's Champions League hopes is a distant second to awaiting the late-summer/early-fall tour date announcements. I will see them again this year, I think. I just hope it will cost less than $1000 to do so.

And my attempts to win over my girl to the cause are beginning to work. She recognizes about half of DYOH and Surrender now and grooves to it. :D Played TPPR for her for the first time on Sunday!

For me personally i think that the chems music, really comes alive when its played live, for me it feels like the songs they make were made to be played live. Its in the live environment that for me that the music really rings true and is heard the way it was meant to be when it was created. 1 particular tune t5hat i think emphasises this is HBHG. Cos its played early on everybody has so much energy, and the crowd goes fucking mental to it, its just pure acid house, and everybody is locked into the groove and going crazy, you feel like you are in some crazy music video or something. It really is something special. And dont get me started on that laser during OOC... :)

Its a real journey during the live set, you feel so many different things... the filth of HBHG, OOC, Come Inside, EBW7 and Believe make u feel like you are in that scene from the matrix revolutions in the cave when they are all raving, thru to the sheer emotion of temptation/star guitar and the beauty of Surface to air, and the golden path. Ending on the cosmic resolution of TTPR (this song made more sense to me when i heard it live and i realised y for many it is their favourite song), its guaranteed that you will feel completely fucked but overwhelmingly happy during this encore, the journey will have ended and their music will never be the same again to you.

Its the ultimate. The pinacle of the chemical brothers experience. it will change the way you think about things.

Aw I'm so excited for you equinoxe24, I had to wait 12 years to see them and oh my god, was it worth the wait!!

As the rest of them have said, no matter how much a fan you are/ aren't, nothing can prepare you for seeing them live. I couldn't put into words what it felt like ahving waited so long and imagined in my head what it would be like. The admiration and pure respect you feel for these geniuses afterwards is incredible. It will literally leave you breathless and in my case, slightly numb.

True, you do gain certain appreciations to tunes you may not have been to keen on previously, what's great is when they finish off playing a tune and break it down with another bit and you're waiting to see what's coming next and then there's just this smooth river of beats that teases you with a tiny sample of the next tune to come, the crowd go wild, your heart skips a beat and before you know it the beats are pumping through your vains and it's a pure ecstasy rush (with or without the drugs!)

Unbelievable live, I can't say it enough!!
