During the 05 tour, I absolutely loved the way the big jump fed into galvanize sounding keys, which eventually slowed down and then went into the actual galvanize melody. Bangin'!
Anybody have any favourite bits of sets that they love?

The favorite bits... oh my god there are so many!
I love it from the start, as the intro is playing and you know it's only a matter of time before the crowd goes nuts and the music goes off. I dig that tension in the air, the chit chatter just moments before the big bang - when the crowd is huddled together and the excitedness is so thick in the air you can reach out and grab it.
I will always have a special place in my heart for that opening fly buzz of Hey Boy Hey Girl starting the gigs when I saw them in 1999 and 2005. It's almost like a swarm of bees buzzing straight to the hive, then all heaven and hell break loose
One of my favorite transitions was the Hoops > Surface To Air > Believe from the 2005 set. It's such a fascinating trio covering a range of emotions.
I also love all Private Psychadelic Reel moments. How could I not? From when the song lifts off into orbit to those sputtering, whirring freak outs at the end - it's joy and melancholy all in one because you're getting the best they've got and there's only a couple moments left.
I can't go without mentioning the Sunshine Underground. It was the closer when I saw them for my first time in 1999, and now looking back I realize it was a rare treat to have seen a set from that era that closed with that song. When I experienced it again in 2002, it was beautifully placed in the middle of the set as though every song before and after were framing it. Getting to hear the most gorgeous version of the song I ever heard this last time around brought things full circle as they once again closed their set with Sunshine Underground.
There's a lot more favorite bits, but I think I've said enough for now.

Damn good topic! Yeah, I too love that transition from Big Jump (124 BPM) down to Galvanize (104 BPM) really steady... Think they (specifically Ed) use the Elektron MachineDrum on that for some of the sounds.
I was thinking today that I really dig the transitions after Sunshine Underground in the 2002 tour to a dub-induced version of Hoops (always fun cause the sample is always a bit different) and also this tour, with the Kitten kicking in after the song and all of it's tweaked goodness. Happy thoughts, anyway, I've gone a little blotto to get myself to fall asleep for work at 4:30 am and posting right now may make me sound erratic.

for example i liked the beginning of the WATN part 1 tour better than the beginning WATN pt.2. those banging bassline of galvanize perfect combined with this sick visuals....yesss.
this pt.2 beginning is a little to dark for me....only those "don't hold back" vocals - ok. but for me the visuals appear a bit too late.
transitions i like most: believe > we are the night. these beautiful vocal samples of WATN (aaaaaa, aaaaaa, aaaaaaaa)...wooowww! and the test vocals with ARR = very cool.

HA! Whirly, I love you.
My favorite almost mimics london_dust_explosion's: from the Come with Us tour, Block Rockin' Beats into the Leave Home intro, which then turns into Song to the Siren. Fucking sweet, fierce and amazing. I do love the Music:Response>BRB from that set, too...
