Any other 1st timers? Slipvin, have you seen the Chems before and if so, how long ago?

I'm really excited for you all!!!

Yup.

I've seen 'm twice so far. First was @ Lowlands in 1997 (that's where they recorded the live version of Setting Sun that's on the TPPR single) and the second time was in 2004 @ the HMH.

Have to say that 1997 was the best fucking Chems concert ever! Back then, they weren't as popular as they are now, and they rocked the crowd! Almost every tune they played was sort of a remix or spin-off of the original. Brilliant! Ah, those were the days...

I missed the 99 Toronto date...

but I got to the 2002 show, so all's well. :)
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Hi there! Found out about the HMH gig today so I thought I'd have a little peek on here.

I was wondering if anyone knew if they were playing a new set or still touring with the "old" one.

I was lucky enough to see them twice in a short time span with two different sets (just before and just after Push the Button came out at lowlands and in the HMH) and was wondering if they have a new set going on.

Thanks!

Old skool! That's cool that you got to see them back in the day, Slipvin! I bet you got to hear Loops of Fury live, then - yeah?? Anyway it would be great if you could meet up with friends here when you see them this time around. It really brings the whole thing to a peak when you can go with a posse!

synch - welcome aboard!! The Chems are no longer touring for Push The Button so you'll be treated to the latest and greatest. Stick around!

I am really starting to feel my bones get all creaky!! hahaha! I totally blew it in 1996 when they played the Organic festival up in the mountains and I had to bail before they came on - my claim to altitude sickness induced shame! I wrote a big mess about it here a few years ago. stash and I went because we heard The Orb and Meat Beat Manifesto were playing, we didn't really know who the Chems were. It was a big excuse to party up in the mountains but I was so ill. And so goes the hypothetical - if only. If only!!! Things happen for a reason I guess. I will forever make up for lost time!

Excellent! Do they have new material out? I've kind of lost track after the gig.

The albums are definetly going back on heavy rotation!

Anyways, pre-sale starts tomorrow so I might just have to get a few tickets :)

Hallo Synch! Alles goed ? ;)

To give my fellow Dutchlander a quick update ; The new album will be released spring/summer 2007. According to Tom and Ed they have about 40 gems finished/working on and chemical 6 is as good as finished. Very exciting !! Some of us will be going to Turnmills in London for NYE to celebrate the New Year with fellow Chemical Forum Geeks , Friends , great clubbers and offcourse the Chems themselves :D

And the new EBW's had a spin on pete tongs show last friday and they are absolutely fucking brilliant !!
