alrighty there iggy, nice to see ya mo fo 8) :D
been posting less cause ive started a new job for the summer and been trying to get some music done - trying to get an EP sorted for sept time, so havent been about to post :( but ive got some spare time at the mo ;) :)
hmmm, from a purists point of view i can see what your saying. personally, i find it a lot easier to mix with vinyl, i think it sounds nicer and it looks much better 8)
HOWEVER, the last gig i played i stretched my arms 8 inches carrying my vinyl boxes - not fun!! also the technology for CD decks is getting so good now that you can do amazing things with them that you cant do with vinyl - just ask sneakerbeater :) plus - a lot of dance music you hear is promo's and a lot fo the promo's are now on CD - AND if you've written a tune you want to play out that night, it's so easy to burn a CD and just play it!!
christ, that was a long rant - hope you havent fallen asleep ;)
and yes - sister bliss is my fave - she is a good looking laydeeeeee

yeah technics have there new sl-dz1200 deck. from what i have heard they are not as good as they look. there are a few videos flying around the net demonstrating some sound glitches on the technichs. not good!!! but rectifiable no doubt. they have got a couple of them at turnmills. we asked the dj what they are like to play on, and he compared them to playing on belt drive decks, not good!!! i have had a feel of the platter and really didn't feel the same as the trusty old sl-1200.
obviously the pioneer decks are the bench mark. but not the true feel of a deck, mixing on vinyl is fractionally easier. but all the little tricks you can do is mind blowing. i don't mix on vinyl cos its boring. just layering 2 tunes together for a minute or 2 is no challenge, anyone can do that. i need loops and multiple cue points, i need to have an extra dimmension to my mixing !!!!
the biggest problem is it so hard to get the muisc on cd format. i still buy alot of vinyl and end up having to copy it on cd. i also use mp3 shops like beatport and trax2burn. there are very few labels that put full releases on cd. but that will change!!!
mippio carrying a box of vinyl, fuck that!!!! i got a 128 cd wallet i carry around, its alot easier!!!! my mate used to have this huge record box, we must have carried that all over london. i'm sure i will suffer in latter life from carrying those lumps

I've got CD decks, never mixed on vinyl so I can't compare. Why only CD decks, you ask? I don't own a single piece of vinyl, and I'm not Bill Gates so can't afford to replace my CD collection with vinyl, and buy a set of decks!
CDs do me just fine, even though my decks are crap (compared to the one sneaker showed earlier), it does me! I only mix for myself anyway, and then record to MD. Gives me something to listen to in the car or whatever
