Thanks Jittem!!
It is definitely a very proud moment in our young history.
It's awesome. It's awesome my son got to see this moment. And it's awesome my 94 year old grandpa lived to see this day he never thought was within reach all those years ago when he living in the deep south.
This is such a great moment. I'm having a glass of wine, we got a log on the fire and we're watching this moment continue to unfold - and I'm feeling pretty good right now.
There's a long road to hoe ahead for Obama and he's about to inherit a treacherous legacy... But Hopefully we (meaning those who were rooting for Obama) will be this confident in the months to come as we are right now.

Oh yeah, I don't like to be sincere very often, but I have to say that this is the very first moment in my life that I am proud to be an American.
Fortunately, I can now go back to completely ignoring politics, because I know we're in good hands.

Ah, wow, it's amazing that we just elected a man who is going to represent America more eloquently than any president in recent memory.
Fuck, yes.

Good use of voting power makesjidskill. Power to using your democratic rights!
It was surreal to see the logo on the TV screen
"Barack Obama President Elect"
As a Canadian, I think that the americans made a great choice this day. I hope that President Obamas leadership can make great steps forward for not only americans, but the world.
now onto listening to some old Willie Hutch cause it got more soul!

sorry for crappy pics
After the Obama speech everyone spilled out into Michigan Ave. (same thing happens after the Lollapalooza festival but its that crowd x 10!) and walked from Grant Park till the Tribune building across the river. I've never seen so many happy people in my life. Such a great night.
PS. Good to have you back, Stash

Ahahaha, very funny to have a pic of "President Comacho" from Idiocracy in your image montage.
Bosco - I was wondering how the Grant Park excursion went. I saw the mobs of people on tv last night and I thought "Bosco is in there somewhere!"
TJtheDJ007, you summed it up so nicely. I told my son pretty much the same thing yesterday.
Did any of you catch McCain's concession speech? After all the dirtiness and character slander of the past few months, he redeemed himself in my eyes last night. He bowed out gracefully and with tact. I don't like the conservative platform but I don't think he's a bad guy, he's been to hell and back and has done some good things over the years - somewhere in there, he can be the man he once was in 2000. It just wasn't his time, in 2008. I wished his behavior last night was reflective of his campaign. It's almost sad to have seen this older man's campaign - all the time, money, resources - literally unravel within a couple month span. Palin sunk it for him, she was so divisive. Anyway. I've got to say I thought his concession speech was graceful and humbled without being patronizing or condescending. When his supporters boo'd at the mention of Obama, he actually winced, cut off the boo'ing and motioned for the crowd to shut up so props to him for showing some class when his supporters would not.
I hope Sarah Palin goes back to the godforsaken hole she slithered out from, and we never have to see her again.
