The day after we met up with an old friend from the former Chem Bros mailing list - this sweet girl named Ana who I finally got to dance next to at Audiotistic. She's seen the Chems a few times and she said that Saturday's performance was the best Chems gig she's ever seen.
Also on the ride back home, I called up a coworker that we were supposed to meet up with. She didn't get to the venue til 8pm on Saturday night. She wanted to see Coldplay but I kept convincing her beforehand that the Chems was where she needed to be. Well, I was right. She said she left Coldplay after a couple of minutes because their set wasn't very intriguing, and headed to the Sahara tent to see the Chems. She was totally blown away and even though she was by herself, she said she quickly made a few dancing partners. She loved the crowd, the energy, the visuals, the energy and connection from the band. My coworker has been to dozens and dozens and dozens of shows over the years, and she can be quite the critic. Yet she was marveling at how the crowd was so cool and into it, and the sound and clarity of the Chems gig being so good - said it was one of the best she's heard!
