This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures. Nate Harrison's 2004 video is a meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip

I dunno what that word means but i guess it means stuff that keeps repeating itself....?
Anyway , i LOVE dnb , but funny enough , i only listen to it at parties cause it's ape-going music. I dont really listen to it at home or on my iPod.
my mistake, it's spelt *repetitive: nvolving doing or saying the same thing several times, especially in a way that is boring.
I listen to liquid DnB at home, very relaxing material. I always feel like, somebody's watching mee

A cd i love to listen to at home is : London Electricity - Billion Dollar Gravy.
For example.
But at party's i like sickass DnB that's almost breakcore man. The dark hard stuff with sick bass !! But i can't listen to that at home. Only somehwere with 300 other people who go ape!

i fookin love drum breaks me, i do like the amen but its a bit ubiqutous now, a bit like apache became.
one of my faves is shack up by banbarra - really crisp mid-tempo break, very cool.
i did a search for an example and found this page - http://banach.lse.ac...RUMS/drums.html - theres loads of classic breaks on there to tuck into :D
also jack mcduff - hunk of funk is really cool, very rolling, nice easy groove, and the head hunters - god made me funky is also wicked - really tough kick action ;)
ahhhhh drum beats (drooools)
