Apparently there was a problem because the Brothers stopped and left after Star Guitar. Then after about 10 minutes
they came back, but they played the last 2 songs of the set only, so they skipped Setting Sun, The Golden Path and
some new songs. It's a shame really, because they never come and the crowd response had been so great that we
deserved the whole set, if not more. I want to think that they really had a problem with the equipment and that's why
they shortened the set. Which was:
1. Hey boy hey girl
2. Get yourself high
3. Music: response
4. Block rockin' beats
5. (I think this was a new song, it had a vocal track with a female voice singing
"Would you need some time in the sun?" or something like that)
6. Under the influence
7. It doesn't matter
8. Out of control
9. Star guitar
(interlude)
10. Got glint?
11. The private psychedelic reel
Anyway, what they played was mind-blowing. The spectacular 1-2-3-4 of Hey boy hey girl, Get yourself high, Music:response
and Block Rockin' Beats turned everyone mad! 12.000 people jumping and singing along to Hey Boy Hey Girl can be the
highlight of one's life. People even sang along to the "oooooohhh" noises during Block Rockin' Beats. I think it was during
this song that it started to rain, which was cool at first, because it was a kind of refreshment among that bo! It seemed to rain
harder as the music got more intense.
We got really cool places, and we were able to see the Chems in the face! I thought they were going to be more serious,
like most DJs, just looking down at their equipment and not moving. But they were really cheerful, they greeted the audience
lots of times and smiled and danced a lot.
Get yourself high was more intense than the album version, and they practically didn't use the vocal track, except for the
"Just get yourself high" part. "Star Guitar" was the night's highlight for me, though I can't believe I was the only clapping to
the rythm of the beat. It was completely awesome, and it never seemed to finish, which was great. I sang to the top of my
voice when the beats stopped and we heard the vocal track "You should feel what I'm feeling..."
After Star Guitar they left, but someone announced that they were going to come back, so we didn't worry. We
moved to the side of the stage so that we would not get smashed during the remaining tracks. But when they
started with the last tracks, I knew they had skipped part of the set. It's a shame really, but well, the show was amazing,
and we got to hear "The Private Psychedelic Reel," best dance track ever.

Reading the gig reviews gives me the most joy, it's cool like TheChemicalBrother said that they transport the reader to the show. All in the experience.
Anyway, glad to hear Tom and Ed were cheerful too, despite the rain. It's a shame the set was cut short (understandably, that's a lot of electricity on stage and we don't want any fried Chemicals!!) but it doesn't sound like anyone let the rain get them down.

Let's talk serious... The first part was great! Starting the set with 'Hey boy, Hey girl' took me incredibly high... However, stoping the show in the middle of the explosion was a crap!
Anyway, I could have accepted that. But they stole us!!! They played less than 50 minutes!
I think it was a lack of respect...
I wish they explained something to all of us that feel like having been stolen.

It's really a shame that the set had to be shortened, and it's true that they should have organised things so that this wouldn't happen, but well... listening to those songs was such an unbelievable experience that I don't feel cheated in any way.
BTW, does anyone know if the "Would you like some time in the sun...?" song is one of the new ones?

I'm not incredibly knowledgable with all the ins and outs of touring here, but I don't think they cut the show short out of the lack of respect - that's a harsh, unfair assumption.
There's a lot of electrical equipment on stage. Plus there could have been real, iminent safety issues - I can't imagine it would be safe to have all these live wires laying around in the midst of a torrential downpour. This was obviously a lack of preparedness on the promotor's part, not the Chemical Brothers themselves. It's not like they can control the weather.

haha, same! I was the only one it seemed and I was quite impressed with my rythem, although when the hand claps speed up it's a lot harder and hurts your hands.
Chems should call a track 'rain dance'I imagine the track would be cut short ;-)

i'm sure the brothers are just as disapointed with the way the show turned out as you are Ripka.
Well, the set was a bit shorter than it should have been, but there's no reason to call it a disappointing night... rather an unforgettable night! The show was mind-blowing, and you have to think that what they played was the most part of the set, not the less (and it included most of the essential tracks.) Some people were so concerned with the amount of time the Brothers were going to play that they didn't seem to enjoy themselves.

BUT if I have to say something about the show and the guys: AWESOME! INCREDIBLE! I had so much fun and I enjoyed it so much that I can say I'll never forget the things they made me feel and the way they did it. I didn't care about the rain, in fact I love it, I wouldn't care if I had to walk because taxis (or maybe even buses) wouldn't take me home (and I live really far from the place they played)... But fortunately I arrived home safely by car, hehe! I was worried about them and the equipment. It was too dangerous to go on with the show in that conditions, the argentinian crew could do something before the show because EVERYBODY here knew since days before that it was going to rain on Friday.
I have nothing to say to them, except that as long as they were on stage I really enjoyed it, and thanks for doing all they could do.
In conclusion, I won't blame it on the Chemical Brothers, they did what they could do and as long as they could, so, I have to say I'll wait all the time is necessary for them to come back and I'll go and hold on to the barriers, I'll get OUT OF CONTROL, I'll shake my body and my mind (yes, my mind) just the way I did it on Friday night, 3 days ago. And I can say most of the people here think the same way as I do (if I can't say everyone does). We all will be waiting for them as excited as we were this time.

I shouldn't laugh, it's a shame the organisers failed the Chems and the crowd. :(
Shit! This topic has had nearly 500 hits in just over 24 hours.... that's a lot of people reading this stuff....
....hey, umm, any South American chicks can stay with me and see the Chems in January, if they want. ;)
