A big salad and a healthy piece of salmon (sorry Sammy!!) that was marinated in sesame oil and a splash of soy sauce before cooking. Mmmm.

hehe, Denny's - home of orange food! A number of years ago, we went on this fuckwitted road trip adventure with my husband's sister, our roommate and this homeless Canadian drifter (who lived on our roof, long story) and we found ourselves in Tijuana sometime before sunrise. We were strung out, hungry and sleep deprived and managed to find a Denny's right there on Ave De Revolucion. The pictures on the menu were not only brown/orange, but utterly horrifying in their unappealing and most unappetizing arrangement in the photos. Amplified by the fact that we were in a Denny's in TJ watching the sunrise over that filthy place. So I tried to be sensible and stuck with coffee and toast and everyone else had meals. When the food came out we just howled because the food on the plates looked exactly.like.the.food pictured on the menu right down to the garnish and brownish/orange-ness. Utterly terrifying yet strangely surreal. What a weird night that was...

Anyway, tonight I had homemade ravioli my mother-in-law made from scratch and a nice salad. I just ate a canoli (also home made, my mom-in-law is an amazing cook) and I feel bloated and sick. Carb and sweets consumption is kind of a rare thing for me these days, and the ravioli and canoli just about did me in. Double-time at the gym required tomorrow... I hope this bloaty feeling passes.

made pasta sauce from scratch over the past week or two. sofa-king good! plus, cheaper than that jarred stuff. I can mail some leftovers to anyone if they want. I had giving up tupperware, so you'll have to get it in an envelope, which might be a mess.

Tupperware is great. Have you tried pesto instead of sauce Biff? I prefer it, cos I hate soggy food. Loving Sacla aubergine pesto with chicken breast, wholegrain pasta and veg (my pre-gym meal).

pesto is my next frontier, one of my good friends makes it, so I was going to bug him to teach me the skillz, since you can't find many good ones around here. plus, basil is going to be in season soon.

A. Pesto makes me cream in my shorts. I can't tell you how many pesto-chicken sandwiches I've had that make me believe in God.

B. I just had a chocolate chip granola bar and coffee for breakfast. Granola is healthy, right? I mean, that's like, what those health nuts eat, right?
