intro.
"bootleg babies" was a project the fan of underworld on the rtsr-trade mailing list did last year, "We wanted to make a mix with the best tracks from Underworld bootlegs we had gathered over the years, a bit like Underworld did with Everything, Everything. It keep the list busy for a while since all the track where choosen with extensive polls on the list. The member choose the track that would be included, from wich source, the name of the cd and the artwork. Geoff mixed the whole thing so well it's hard to believe this is coming from 7-8 different bootlegs ranging from various quality. We distributed the cd from fan to fan around the world I think a good 150 copies where made of it, so for all you who couldn't get it last year you can now enjoy it. I hope you will enjoy those files" -Yannick Joubert
about.
these days, we are constantly bombarded with digital information. it passes through our skin 24hrs a day and we dont even twitch. its amazing we havn't all gone crazy yet. but there are huge bundles of zeroes and ones out there that when added together equal something far beyond the cold calculated technology of our world. that something is the music of underworld. that something is organic in that it has given birth to communities with members numbering in the thousands. they are organic as well. alive. teeming with ideas and action and feeling. and even though we can't really visualize how big it actually is it all boils to down to us. sitting in front of our computers. at work at home on the road dreaming and listening it was during one of those moments that the idea for this project first came up. me at a desk in a large space with large windows not streching my legs enough. almost bored to tears but feeling happy because you were all out there with me and we listened together. and together we came up with the idea to order those zeroes and ones our own way to pay homage and to celebrate and to make it all the more interesting

I've been getting really into Underworld since I've heard about scribble. I've been listening to Beaucoup Fish, which is atm my favorite, as well as Oblivion with Bells and Dubnobasswithmyheadman. I'm going to rip my physical copy of Second Toughest in the Infants again--I've heard it is rather excellent, but since I first heard their "Best Of", 1992-2002, I had all of their "hits" from that album, so I didn't see the point. Otherwise, I just need 100 Days Off.
Sadly, I wasn't too impressed with Tokyo '05 compared to Everything, Everything. I'm hoping this bootleg mix is more enjoyable.
Okay, end my rant of Underworld-discovery excitement.

No one actually knows where in Germany this was recorded - Bootleg Babies says Munich but that could be just speculation. Apparently, it's extremely rare. I couldn't even find a Discogs entry for it, only these LastFM pages:
http://www.last.fm/m...y+1996+(disc+1)
http://www.last.fm/m...y+1996+(disc+2)
I did a ton of digging and managed to find a link:
Disc 1: http://www.mediafire.com/?ytmdtt3atjj
Disc 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?i2vhmyryg0y
Those links are not complete. Disc 2 is missing a track (Pearls Girl) and the ID tags are a total wreck.
Here's a guide I made, you're gonna have to edit all the names + track numbers yourself:
──────────────────────────────╥──────────────────────────────────────── Track says: ║Should be: ──────────────CD1─────────────╫──────────────────────────────────────── Juanita ║#01, correct. Medley ║#02, Confusion The Waitress »missing track« ║#03, Pearls Girl European Club Gig CD2 track 04║#04, Born Slippy Born Slippy.NUXX ║#05, correct. skyscraper, I love you (remix)║#06, Mmm Skyscraper, I Love You (Remix)* ──────────────────────────────╨──────────────────────────────────────── *This track seems to be a studio remix of Mmm Skyscraper, I Love You, and not a part of the live set. Judging by the label on the cover of the CD, it's probably a bonus track added to fill some of the extra space on disc 2.
A great show. And the Skyscraper remix is pretty cool too - it's got a nice acid line.

The ID tags are a total mess BTW, but it's totally worth the download. I'll try to get a tracklisting up.
Here's a pitch-corrected version a fan on RTSR did a while back. Correct tracklisting & everything:
