That virus did a shitload of damage here in California. In the 6 1/2 years my husband worked in his office, through all the other viruses, the latest one was the one that shut down the entire national network.
How come you think chem'd up was joking around about this?
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

like i said, the only thing it does to the infected system is shut you down anytime you try and do something, but tonight, the 16th it is supposed to attack microsoft from all host computers........very unlikely now.......
thanks for the vote of confidence whirleyhirl, these guys just think im permanently drunk!!!!!!
.....and now off to sooth a crying baby.......................ah the joys!

Actually, thats not what its written to do. It takes advantage of an insecure flaw in Windows which allows data to be sent to Microsoft's data collection servers (which re-route to other servers when overloaded). The virus exploits this by sending excessive amounts of data continuously to Microsoft, hence overloading their systems and temporarily shutting them down. However, the program was badly written and the code interpreted by the OS kernel sometimes fcuked up the system, causing it to shutdown on network tasks, or to reboot over and over again.
