FABRIC PODCAST LAUNCHES WORLDWIDE

While some use their post birthday hours to hang up the disco boots and snuggle down to some well earned rest, we're using the last week of October to launch something very special we’ve been preparing for sometime – our fabric podcast series.

We’ve started to invite a few musical luminaries into a studio to record what will soon become editions of our regular podcast series. These are people who have dedicated their lives to creating and expressing music we love and admire; a roster to include some artists who perform at the club, some who perhaps have never performed in any club, some mentors, some underrated champions of genres lost by time and trends, but all purveyors of good music, whatever that may be. We’ve asked them to just play music that they love, that has inspired them, regardless of genre, time or any attachments people have to them with certain musical industries, and explain to listeners why they’ve selected the pieces they have.

These podcast will be regularly delivered without musical limitation - which in itself is something rather special - through the usual channels of podcast dissemination so that everyone the world over can listen.

“The fabric podcast offers musical pioneers past, present and future, the opportunity to present the music that has made them what they are today, freely and in a non-commercial environment; presented as an intimate exploration of their musical heritage and a glimpse beyond the veil of their public persona.”

- Keith Reilly, fabric Director

The inaugural fabric podcast will be released on October 24, 2007 hosted by our long-time resident Craig Richards. Next up, it’s Andrew Weatherall who’s in the hot seat, sharing tales of his earliest musical memories and influences.
