Just for the record I'm not criticising anyone for liking HAA, what someone makes of the album is entirely up to them 8). To me though, in terms of comparing to an artists previous work its probably the most disappointing album I've ever heard.

Re Britney Spears (the music I mean hehe) as long as its not one of those awful piano-stab Oops I did it again-style tracks then I'm cool with that.

Darkstarexodus : I get the feeling that Daft Punk don't really care about expectations and will continue to do whatever gets them off and props to them for that.

Jeanie : but ffs , if people like that cd , they like it. What's the fucking problem.

awesome, that's what i wanted to say, also.

but basically, i dunno, i hated this album when i played it first, but i quite like it now once in a blue moon, i love their total back to basics, and very very basic songwriting and instrumentation approach. it's exactly like darkstar said, they don't give a fuck, they just wanted to do something stupid. and it's still good. not trippy, not psychedelic, just a few basic machines put to good use.

i hope they come off and blow the bollocks off all the "expectations" people. guys, while u were ramblin on over something stupid.. here's..

... somethin more stupid! :D

and whirly, u always make sense. we need some energy in u.

i think the point everyone is missing is that after homework, everything that daft punk did simply wasnt very good.

one of the first records ever bought for me was kylies first album - i was 8 years old and it rocked :D

i think eamons 'i dont want you back' was one of the best pop records of last year :-//

i also think girls aloud first single 'sound of the underground' was awesome.

im gonna remix beautifull by christina aguelira, BECAUSE it rocks, it just needs a dusty hip hop beat.

:-//

(daft punk are still poo ;))

I think HAA was made to be heard in a live mash up. As an album, it's a pretty bad album, but in their live, it sounds great !

I think you're on to something. When I heard Human After All the first time it sounded like it was made more to play within a mix. With it's minimal, repetitive approach it may be hard for some people to swallow by itself as an album, but it could work as one of the ingredients thrown into a dj set.

And Jack's Revenge thank you for the nice words. :)
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

I agree, u'r pretty bang on, some of this human after all stuff could be turned into some crazy stuff on a floor by a good dj. it's got wicked stuff.

guess they'r destined to be the meat beat manifesto of electronic music with this album. hehe, nevermind, if it didn't make sense.

HAA was done in 2 weeks ! That's Thomas Bangalter and Guyman De Homem Christo's words.

They did it in 2 weeks and the mixing took 4 weeks.

They wanted to see what they could produce in spontaneousness, and thought if they did something people would like and buy, something commercial, it would sound bad.

So now we know HAA wad more an experiment and womething very personal.

they didnt wanna do something commercial??? i believe technologic was all over the i-pod commercial

and if they think they can get away with 6 weeks worth of production, they're sadly mistaken.
