Hey gals/guys,

just woke up, after one heck of a nite at werchter. Snoop played for all the homeboys a set I couldn't really care about. Than the sky broke and rain poured down, really poured. People ran off, to the exits, minutes before the all too familiar tunes of hey boy/hey girl set in. As soon as that happened people ran back to the mainstage and danced in pouring rain and thunderstorm. People covered themselves with anything they could find just to be a little dry. Some couldn't care less and danced away, completely soaked. Some ravers danced so hard steam formed around their bodies once it stopped raining only to begin again a little later on.Galvanize and Believe (w/o Kele) were crowdpleaseres but also oldskool chemicals did the trick. Block Rockin' Beats, Hey Boy, Chemical Beats etc... IMHO the set had a little downpoint once it set in Star Guitar but that might've been me fed up with the rain for a second cuz most people around me kept dancing their asses off. All in all good show, lasted till 2 and kept ppl wanting more...

the visuals were fekkin' excellent, really enjoyed them. (fun part of the nite was when the xtc-ed guy who was shaking his ass next to me started tripping when that "scary clown" appeared on screen, i had to tell him everything was gonna be fine and that the clown would stay on stage and wouldn't come and get him :) )

I agree, Star Guitar should be "outsetted"... Why not take The Sunshine Underground back instead ?

Allrighty than guys....i wont right a big revieuw as i did for Brixton , well , i'll try not to X-D

It was an EXCELLENT day !!!!

Let me start with Wednesday , meeting up with Jolsyn and Thomas was cool , Thomas had never been to Amsterdam so we decided to go on a cheesy touristic boat-tour hehehe X-D But we ended up talking most of the tour! Just had some good food , showed Thomas some Dutch food wich he didn't really liked hehe , and a lot of talking about the Chems offcourse...!!!

So Thursday we meeted up at 8.45Am to catch the train , we arrived at rockwerchter around 1.30 Pm....and as soon as Jolsyn left to go to his tent , and me on Thomas went to walk around the festival-place , rain stared to piss it down BIG TIME. It wasn't like a normal rain shower , no , i was a fucking storm..well , i bought a very nice warm Poncho to keep me dry ( Wich Thomas hates cause it's leopard print hahaha X-D )

tThe hood that came with the Poncho moehahaha

The stage where we saw The Bravery , NO , Snoop and Chems!

We meeted up with Jolsyn and he's really cool fun friends...and still it was pissing it down..!!! So we went to hide somehwere , and when it stopped we went to the Main Stage where we could walk straigh up front to see The Bravery. I have to say it was a very good performance , de leadsinger was kinda scary hahaha but they are definatly a talented band , good sound and good songs. The crowd gave a big response to " Honest Mistake "

The Bravery!

After this - Now it comes girls and guys - there was...NEW ORDER. Whiej! We were like " Ow yeah Tom and Ed must be watching from backstage! " So we watched then for a bit , i was well impressed , this is such a good band...! They played Temptaion and also Joy Division's Love will tear us apart wich i LOVE...And than . after like 3 or 4 songs or so , Thomas went completely nuts haha and i was like "WHAT WHAT!?" And than.... 8O There were Ed and Tom walking 3 meters away from us , heading for the middle area where press and stuff comes...! Joslyn , Thomas en me freakd out , that was so COOL!!! So we waved at them and they waved back at us and we were so happy X-D So the whole gig the stood there , and NO's Bernard and the guitarist where making jokes to them " Hey , ejoying yourselfs ?! " and , before Temptation " So lets see who can do it best , maybe we can give you a few tips! " Or something like that X-D Bernard was pretty funny anyway , he has a very.....dry sense of humor X-D So we were like crazy !!!!!!!! So when the gig was over they left and we went to the side and Thomas shouted : " ED! MILOCO!" and he turned around and we gave eachother the thumbs up :D At that point i wrote on my shirt " HELLO MILOCO AND T!

Yeah i wrote it myself upside down thats why it looks messed up ;)

But it was hard to see...so yeah it was so cool , cause they go like normal people in the field you know , to enjoy a gig! And okay i know this sounds stupid but i was shocked by how...formilliar they looked haha. Cause i see them everyday on my comp or video's and than suddenly you see them IRL. That was weird , and cool!! Anyway , we didn't walked over to talk to them altough Thomas kinda wanted to X-D But i personally tought and i think Thomas and Joslyn agree , Respect them man..there enjoying a gig , we said Hi , they said Hi , it's all good , i don't want to bother them during a NO gig !!! But yeah , we freakd out , i was actually shaking 8O Anyway , i wont go on to much about this altough i could :D

New Order!

After we went to get a drink and some food during a band wich name i forgot but was pretty good....and there we amde our banner " MILOCO & TOM , MORNING ( and they i draw a lemon) ....

You cant really see the lemon we made it better after..!!

After we headed back into the BIG crowd , to get in front for the Chems , and we managed to get like 3 rows behind the fence...at this point it was SO crowded cause Snoop Dogg was playing before the Chems , and so warm and humid that i really had to concentrate on not fainting!!! Snoop's show stared with some sort of movie on the big creens , it was almost a sex movie but it was pretty funny. I actually REALLY enjoyed Snoop , i'm not really into the music but the show was fun , a lot of fun...!

Snoop Dogg!

When he finished , the waiting , the ANITICIPATION! Had begun...now it was SO crowded in the front that i wasn't funny anymore , there were some anoying ( but also some cool people! ) people that made me pissed and the pushing was very bad. Just before 12.15 , when the Chems were supposed to come on...it stared to rain again. But not just rain , ooow no. RAIN! RAIN! So in 5 minutes we were all soaking , but SOAKING !!!! Man...so they gave us some big big tent kind off things to shelter under , and that was prett funny , with all this people under a cover , but the people stated pushing to get under and hide from the thunder and rain , and that was seriously not cool....so we got rid of that thing. And than......

The famous Surrender to the Void music starts. Joslyn , Thomas and i go crazy , and with us 40 000 other people. And there they were , wearing rain capes hahahaha , that was pretty funny X-D We tried to hold up our banned but i was hard cause it was heave from the rain...and we just left it for what it was ... and then...!!!

WHIEJ!!!!!!!

"Tu tu tu HEY GIRL tu tu tu HEY BOY tu tu tu SUPERSTAR DJ's tu tu tu HERE WE GO!!!!!!! " at this point , like Prequar ( Welcome! ) said , people forgot about the awfull rain and clouds of steam stared to form around us , cause everybody went CRAZY!!! Ow yes , what a feeling. And MORNING LEMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was pretty short but so cool to hear this mixed in with Get Yourself High !!!! They actually did some stuff in between the songs that i didn't recognize and they gave some songs and sound a whole different treathment than in Brixton wich was amazing !!!!!!!!!Well for the actual RIGHT setlist Joslyn and Thomas will correct me , you all kinda now the state of mind i'm in at a Chems gig so i don't remember. I TOTALLY lost it at believe...Tom and Ed , dude's...the build up you do in that song is almost to much to handle. The anticipation is almost painfull 8O Hahahaha....Tom and Ed seemed to like the build up in believe , both looking like Maniacs ( And it's so funny , they are so wild and stuff on stage , while they looked so relaxed drinking a beer during NO :D ) And than when the beat kicks in with the high pitch ( Whatever you call it , that high sound , you know what i mean ) Fucking hell , i can't remember how many times i said :"FUCKING HELL YEAH MOTHERFUCKERS!" Hahahaha i get a little bit...i can't control what i do and say when i'm excited hahaha. I have to agree with PreQuar , the crowed didn't seem SO up for Star Guitar but we went apeshit...!!! Yeah Star Guitar , what a song...man 8O Surface to Air made me cry again ( Can't help it , it's a heavy song for me haha ) and made Joslyn go crazy hahahaa X-D Come Inside , man , " WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME INSIDE SIDE SIDE SIDE SIDE SIDE...BOOM! " Aaaaaaaah fucking hell man that beat when it kicks in it's GREAT fucking GREAT !!!!! Also the beat from Uner the Influence ow man.... 8O 8O 8O At that moment when the beat kicksin a just loose it man , sometimes i think i look more Maniacal ( Hihi X-D ) Than Tom shouting at his drummachine...! Tom and Ed where well up for it to , Tom doing his usual buzzing up the crowd thing " DO YOU WANT SOME MORE?! COME ON!" and their big JUMPS! when the beat kicks in.....Ed walking in front off the stage many times to wave at the crowd or do his Shake Break Bounce dance hahaha X-D I love them man... 8O I absolutely LOVED everything they played , all the treatments they gave to it...Galvanize and Block Rocking Beats got a HUGE respond from the crowd " MY FINGER! IS ON THE BUTTON! " It seems to me that this song sounds kind of slow when they play it live. I mean it's great anyway , but it seems that it's slower than on the record , but i'm sure it's not. ( I'm not talking about the songs in the right order , i'm just typing everything that i remember ) PrecQuar , That made me laugh what you wrote about that guy freaked out cause of the EBW Clown!!! I happends more often X-D EBW 7 got a great response from the crowd aswell...well almost everything really !!! And ehm , i dont remeber that well , but the beat they have between BRB ( In the live at Chili set it start's at 16.49 , THAT BEAT IS THE BEST BEAT EVER!!!!!!!!!! ) and STTS they mix into it....fuck :-| That is one of my facvorite parts of the show, THAT BEAT!!! The Golden path as brilliand as usual , PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!! I think Ed really likes this song , he always seems to sing along !!!The Big Jump , fucking excellent man , when the " THE BIG JUMP! THE BIG BIG JUMP!" part kicks in , everybody jumps 3 meters high!!!!!! Well let's just say that everything was fucking great !! WHAAAAH !!! It Doesn't matter , the famous Robots , WAUW!!! The crowd LOVED it , and so did we MOEHAHAHA :D:D

Only downer about the actual SET , No TPPR , but thats because of time-limits i guess....in stead they closed with Chemical Beats and from there Tom did that machine thing u know the noise and sound ( OW IT'S SO COOL!!! ) and the Love is All and the eye-visuals were on screen. There were some new visuals of animals wich were quite cool , and Tom and Ed really seemed to have good time , and so did the crowd...it didn't matter that i rained like hell! Well i forgot some songs but my head is kinda fucked up now so i'll write down everything i can remember later...Overal , i think i enjoyed Brixton better cause the people were more relaxed and not pushing ( i actually got an elbow in my lungs and i cound't breath for a sec , that was painfull ) and the rain , we were SO COLD...!!! But set-like , it was brilliant , i love the new set-list and the treatment to it...!!!!

So when it wad finished , Joslyn Thomas and I wrote our nicknames down on the banner and "thechemicalbrothers.com" and we gave it to a guy , wo gave it to a crew member , wo went backstage , gave i to Tom and Ed ( We suppose cause he got back and gave us the thums up so we hope they got it...it was like totally wet but we just wanted them to know we were there hehehehe ) And we waited for a while , until we headed back to the exit. Joslyn went back to his tent while Thomas and me had a long way to go...!!! We had to wait for the bus for half an hour , than half an hour for the train , than an hour for the next train...! On the bus we met this guys and a girl , older people , who had a Chems backstage wrist-band...they know the tourmanager! So this guy gave me his backstage thing , as a souvenir hehehe X-D The ride back was , well , bad hahaha , i only had a little top wich was soaking cause my other stuff was to wet , and THANK GOD i bought that poncho cause else i would've been dying....finally got home at 9 am , tired but satisfied and left with a In-Love feeling (CHEMICAL AFTERGLOW!)

Tom and Ed , once again it was on...with the Chemicals once again you know it's on! Thanks again for a brilliant show , hope you enjoyed it as much as we did....WE LOVE YOU GUYS! ( Well i do , i REALLY love them 8O But i'm weird..hehehee )

( I couldn't make pics of the Chems , I'M SORRY! I t was raining TO MUCH for my camera to handle!!!

FUCKING EXCELLENT ACID HOUSE!!!

Oh my god!!! Jeanie, I can totally feel your excitement jumping right off the screen! That warm afterglow... What a great review, and those pictures are so darling! You're so adorale with your Miloco and T shirt. Ever true to your word, all of you really went the extra mile with the Milco banner plus the top you were wearing... X-D That's so cute it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. One of these days... one of these days I'll be at your side during a gig.

Extra super cool points for the thumbs up and recognition. I really hope the crew gave Tom and Ed the banner!! A little souvenir from the forumites - there's a first! And I like the souvenir you picked up from the older man who knew the Chem's tour manager. ;)

It's always so nice to read how Tom and Ed are so into what they do onstage (even if they are wearing rain slickers). And I'm so glad they put on a great set for you guys. Rain or shine they know how to deliver - then again, they're so damn great. This makes me so incredibly happy!

Fucking Excellent Acid House is right!!

Joslyn, Thomas, PreQuar and Jeanie - you guys rock!!! Thanks again fro the review. I'm so happy that you all had such a great time!

Cool! :D Very jealous and it sounds like a great festival. I'm excited that NO played 'Temptation', as they unfortunately did not at Coachella (Love Will Tear Us Apart was awesome, though!).
